I think we need a thread in this sub-forum specifically for Shield-related discussions. Discussions about:

Helicarriers(when and how to use them);

Shield gear, outfits, weapons, etc.;

Shield agents beyond those we've already seen(who would you like to see show up and who would you like to see play them)
;
How you would like to see Shield integrated further into the Marvel Movie Universe;

etc.

I have to say right now I've got helicarriers on the brain, and figuring out how best to introduce and use them in the movies(whether it be IM2 or a later film).

Enjoy the discussion.

Cool thread. I was wondering about something so I will post it where it belongs!

Do you think Nick Fury will formally re-introduce himself in Iron Man 2? Reason I ask is that the cameo in Iron Man was hidden at the end of the credits and many people do not know about it at all.

Also, I look forward to more SHIELD involvement.

As do I.

I think some reintroduction would be in order, but I'd like it in a clever way.

i think this thread is a great idea. it will be a great way to speculate on all the things nick fury will have his hand in.

Considering SHIELD will have a huge part of The Avengers, where do you guys think the base of operation will be. I know there is the Avengers Mansion in the comics, and their is the base on the government island in the Ultimates. How do you guys think Marvel will deal with this.

Well, honestly, I think we'll probably see Avengers mansion, but more like the Avengers tower like in the more recent comics.

Avengers Tower is possible, but I think their base is gonna end up being the hellicarrier.

I wonder if it will be mentioned in any of the other solo films. Mostly Iron Man 2, considering Tony is the one that financially takes care of The Avengers right?

Do you think we will see Nick Fury in the Captain America film in the second world war?

a mansion on an island

About the Helicarrier, I think it's cool, but should be kept for The Avengers (And fall in an eventual sequel :hehe:).

About the Avengers HQ, I'd be OK with either Tony's mansion being transformed into the Avengers mansion, the Avengers Tower or the Triskelion from the Ultimate Universe. :yay:

I figure something like an Avengers compound will be used, but it will have a more militaristic look than just a mansion. That's just my guess, though. I would guess they wouldn't just straight up use a regular mansion as a base of operations for the team in the films, though.

I don't think it should be a military establishment at all i think that it just seems a bit too 'modern'

I think either the Avengers Tower or Tony's Mansion would just be different to the general movie going audience. Just seems like a funner enviroment for them to mingle in when they aren't kicking ass.

I was watching The Incredible Hulk the other day and I realized, those suits are the perfect suits for a Shield field agent. Of course I'm talking about the suits Bolonsky and his operatives wore during the chase through the city and then the fight at the factory. Helmets don't matter to me but ski masks would just be totally awesome. Agent Coulson and his team could be considered a 'lower threat' level squad seeing how Iron Monger is no where near the threat Hulk is. The weapons they use could be what are also used in TIH. I don't see why not. The guns are highly effective. I mean, I would rather have guys dressed for business than business guys with guns chasing around the super villains of the Marvel U.

These of course aren't actual Shield agents (Well, we at least know Bolonksy wasn't).

I wish I still had my Civil War book so I could scan the suits that the Shield agents have in that. The issue where Captain America jumps out of the top of Shield headquarters after being confronted by Hill and like 50 agents (he won the fight but still left). Those suits are perfect for Movieverse, to say the least.

The Shield Hellicarrier should only be hinted at, say eventually after Stark says yes and joins, he passes by Fury's office to give him the blue prints and arc reactor tech. The full blown Helicarrier so soon would and or could be a turn off for the general movie audience. What's to even say they're going to have one? Favreau is a realist, I doubt he'd go for a giant ass ship floating around every where.

The Shield agents are what made me fall in love with Iron Man, other than Downy, Potts, Stane, the suit, story and, action but I just generally loved them and how they didn't confront Iron Monger with fear but guns blazing. I hope we see Shield agents a ton more and not just as small roles. I hope we get to see Nick Fury and him kicking some butt for once and, most of all, I hope it all works out in the end.

Maria Hill.

Call be overly geeky and old-fashined, but I'd love to see a few S.H.I.E.L.D. agents wearing updated versions of the old school jumpsuits:-

and one shiny latex looking one Maria Hill is sporting here:-

which I guess is kinda reminiscent of the outfits used in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back:-

As I said, overly geeky.

Besides, those kinda costumes would probably cost too much just to give them to what will essentially be extras so I'm not holidng my breath or anything.

There's probably a few looks they could go for. I wouldnt be surprised if they just ended up giving them black fatigues and t-shirts with the logo on it, or even outfits similiar in style (and material) to Black Widow's, which looks to me similiar to Emma Peels' costume in the Avengers:-

For the life of me I cannot think of a good person to play Commander Hill.

Well, maybe we've all got it wrong and Eva Longoria's actually playing Hill instead of Wasp.

;)
