The Force Awakens Ewan Mcgregor open to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

IMO, they should drop the mere notion of a Han Solo movie this very instant and get cracking on the Obi movie.

I wouldn't go that far. A young Han movie has a lot of potential and a lot of leeway and freedom. As much as I'd love an Obi-Wan film, a writer is much more restricted, as we know the point in which we leave him in Sith (on Tatooine watching over Luke) to when we see him again in A New Hope (on Tatooine watching over Luke). Han before A New Hope is an open book (EU is out the window).

Instead of calling this a spin-off film or series. What if they just did a trilogy of films in-between the prequels and original trilogy? There is so much stuff they could include, Everyone has brought up Luke, Obi wan, and even Vader hunting down jedi and doing palpatine's bidding, although i have seen no one talk about showing princess Leia becoming the leader of the rebellion and how she gets into politics.

I would do that ( i think there is enough material) and bridging the gap would be good) Plus they can bring vader back. Then do the Yoda, Han Solo, and boba fett spin-offs, and then look into KOTOR and a plagueis film.

I have a few ideas:
-Keeping the sith off Luke's scent.
-Learning the pathway to inmortality. The voice of Qui-Gon for the win!
-Who knows, maybe even helping out the upcoming rebellion somehow with intel and organization. I think having Obi-Wan work with Bail Organa in some way like in the Last of the Jedi series could be cool. His main mission is protecting Luke of course, but that doesnt mean he cant leave Tatooine if the need arrives. Kenobi could also try and help those jedi who managed to survive order 66, so they find somewhere safe. Bail could help with that, and that's why Alderaan starts getting in the Empire's radar.
-Having a run in or two with Owen Lars, although i always wonder now: does Owen really think Ben a crazy old man or is he just pretending so Luke doesnt go chasing after him?
-I can see Obi-Wan using his AOTC detective skills in the lower levels of Coruscant, if he returns at some point. Seeing the destroyed jedi temple from a distance.

I do think that Obi-Wan must remain away from Vader and Sidious' radar, so he shouldnt even come across them in any way.

Yes, to ALL of this for the movie.

now that Edgerton is on his way to becoming an A-lister, they can bring him back and have him share and adventure (with Owen being an unwillling partner) with Obi.

Exactly. A criminal undeworld SW movie with Han starring? Tons and tons of potential.

And again, not saying I don't want an Obi-Wan film, because I do, right on top of the list! Just saying from a writer's point of view...

I love all of that. Imagine Obi-Wan in his hooded robes sneaking around the underbelly of Coruscant gathering intel for the Rebels. :awesome I also see him leading the farmers against the Tusken Raiders.

This.
I am 110% in favor of an Ewan Obi-Wan film!

Yes, to ALL of this for the movie.
Thanks fellas, glad u liked my ideas :woot:

It would be cool having a closer look at the smuggler world, one we havent really seen yet.

I know everyone is going to hate this idea, but there is an easy way for his return he can always play a Obi-Wan Clone

I vote no to anyone getting cloned to be honest, just seems kinda lazy to me.

An Obi Wan Clone would ruin the character and in my view any credibility of the filmmakers.

There is one reason, where I believe Cloning would not only work, but also fit with the Saga well...If someone with dark intentions, i.e. Sith or other...Cloned Jedi, & Trained them in the Darkside...Imagine an Army of Mace Windu's for example...?

I think an interquel trilogy could be amazeballs. You could have:

A film based around Obi-Wan when in seclusion on Tattooine, learning his path to immortality with Qui-Gon whilst at the same time getting into an adventure with Owen, and needing to protect Luke from discovery by the Empire.

A film based on Han Solo in the darker worlds of Star Wars, doing his smuggler thing and maybe annoying some crime lord and attracting the attention of a certain notorious bounty hunter.

And a final film based around Darth Vader as he hunts down the last Jedi for his master, Emperor Palpatine who is facing a small pocket of rebellion, stemming from Alderaan and Bail Organa, with his daughter, Leia.

Who all is up for Hayden Christensen to return? Honestly, I am. I thought his performance was excellent in RotS. and would love to see him return in Ep 7 or in a film like this.

I did not care for Hayden's performance, and is part of what lacks for me in the prequel department.

That said, I can see him as a Force ghost in Episode VII. There should be some link of the Chosen One and bring balance to the Force through out the saga. Maybe Abrams can bring out a better performance, which ultimately be just a cameo anyway.

I'd like to see the lasting effects of Anakin's Skywalker on the galaxy and the Skywalker family. In all honesty I'd like to see the Vong War adapted loosely to screen with Jacen Solo learning what happened from Vader's perspective in Holocrons preserved on an old Sith world, as well as Anakin Solo living in fear of his namesake.

So to serve those storylines and none other, I'd be more than happy to have Hayden return.

But, you do realize that all the EU stuff is out the window. don't you?

Not necessarily, a few elements of EU found their way into the prequels. we can expect the same for these films.

Sorry, no. He's one of tr many reason why the Prequels polarizes people (among other things.) It's best to distance this new trilogy from the Prequels. I'm down for Ewen to come back though as a Force Ghost since Sir Alec is gone.

I'm sure they might give some EU fans a bone here or there, but not if it gets in the way of the story they want to tell.

See, I'd rather Hayden, because Obi-Wan's Force ghost is established as Sir Alec (even though I agree Ewan is much better). I rather Ewan get a spin off film dealing with Obi-Wan's time on Tatooine.

Which is why I chose the words "I'd like" and "adapted".

Gotcha. Just making sure you don't get your hopes up. :cwink: :yay:

Agreed %100

Besides, Hayden is moving up in management at my local Walmart. Good for him.
