The Dark Knight Exclusive TDK Set Report #2!

That black mercedes with the long camera boom that can rotate any which way was there. With another silver mercedes covered with yet another camera rig.

And J and his thugs were in the semi trailer, not in the truck cab.

Oh  Standing up? You'd think they'd get thrown about alot

I know the hair has been described, but would it be possible to give a more detailed description. Sorry for being anal, but the whole "green highlights" and "poor dye job" rumors have left me shaky.

Was the hair all one color? And what tone of green was it?

How accurate is this manip?

This manip is almost spot-on. His lips weren't a washed out red though, they were a brighter and deeper red.

In this manip, for some reason, his hair seems yellowish in some parts like he dyed his hair with water colors. His actual hair is entirely a dark dirty green, and his roots were even darker. Very stringy hair that fell over his face slightly, like he had dyed it a month ago and never washed it.

it all makes sense now. when they revealed the new 'bat-vehicle' (batpod, batcycle, whatever you wanna call it) they said it had some interesting abilities. even to maneuver under a semi....

Thanks .

I noticed when Joker and crew passed us, Heath's white make-up was only over his face. All of his skin didn't appear to be white like in the first Batman movie. My assumption was that Nolan was at it again with his picture perfect realism.

Dude just has terrible scars on his mouth and painted his face up like a clown. Ya know, something a madman would do. Yeah.

Please tell me you're kidding. I'm all for realism, but many of the rumors suggested he was INDEED bleached/all-white - i.e., he doesn't just cover his face in makeup. Having Joker just be a scarred madman who covers himself in white is a step too far. Perhaps it was just more pronounced on his face and nowhere else because they weren't doing close-ups?

hmm

you know how some people say he "evens out" the look with white foundation

what if it's just his face that got bleached and he has to fill in the edges

Im glad just jokers face is white. If all of his skin was white then I think it would look weird

The first few times I watched Batman I thought Nicholson's Joker had normal skin and that scene before he meets the mob he was wiping off the makeup :o

...it's supposed to look weird.

i won't believe that his skin is not bleached until i see it in the movie or it is stated so by nolan. i just can't believe they would do that, it's so f**ked up. i like the basic look of joker right now from what i've seen, i love the new batsuit, and i'm indifferent about the batcycle. but if joker isn't bleached i'm just going to be extremely let down.

I'm starting to be ok with the idea that Heath's Joker doesn't have bleached skin. I know that sounds blasphemous, but hear me out. The whole point of the Joker having the permanent white skin is so that he's always a clown when he looks in the mirror right? So what if in TDK the Joker has this permanent gash that forms this gruesome smile, so that whenever he looks in the mirror he see a clownish freak smiling back at him, and this drives him to "complete the transformation" so to speak by applying make-up. I don't know, maybe I'm just trying to brace myself in case the white turns out to be just make-up.:csad:

I can't say I care either way really, least important aspect to me. I don't think they'll address it at all anyway, more up to us to interpret it

i get what you're saying, and if the characterization is as perfect as it's shaping up to be, then the character won't be ruined for me. i just don't understand why you would change something so fundemental, that's really not that unrealistic. i mean, a chemical burn turns a guy permanently white and fries his hair green. is that so hard to swallow? :csad:

We'll see what's shown on film. But yeah, if they make an effort to explain that Joker puts on white make-up, or that his entire body isn't bleached....it's plain stupid. There is just no justification for that.

Rough, yes, however that is alot like what we saw. get rid of the flower, put stripes in the tie, a purple vest underneath, and you're solid. That color of purple is dead on :cwink:

YES! Excellent........!!!

I just don't see any point in changing the whole Joker mythos at this point. He really doesn't need a backstory, and so going out of their way to explain that he puts on makeup/foundation seems redundant. In other words, they're changing something that doesn't need to be changed to fit into Nolan's world. It's perfectly believable that someone may have gotten bleached in a chemical accent.

I have no problem with him putting on his own lipstick, or making his face "whiter" to complete what's already been bleached. Heck, it would even be interesting if he FURTHER bleached his own skin to complete the look (Michael Jackson jokes aside.) However, to say he applies ALL the makeup to himself and underneath is just scars is kind of disappointing. This basically changes the whole "idea" of the Joker.

I'm still hoping the shoddy makeup job is because they're doing long/wide shots that don't require closeups; or perhaps the Joker has been bleached worse on his face vis a vis the rest of his body (creating two different shades of "white," perhaps.) I guess the real answer will be his hands - in all the spy pics we've seen, he's wearing gloves, as he is in this new spy report. At some point, maybe he'll take them off...?

Actually, the panda eyes I like - makes him look like a freaked-out crackhead. What I want to know is, does he have eyebrows, and what color are they? The IBIHDT.com site made his eyebrows look pure white/grayish.

The gloves do suggest it. His thugs have black gloves too but from the photos they're ones that leave the back of the hand partially exposed.

So from what you "set report guys" seen, can people stop calling Heath Ledger's Joker "panda eyes"?
