Being an anarchist doesn;t mean you don't have to shower or comb your hair. Joker has been chaotic and anarchic in the comics yet managed to remain well-dressed and neat. Certainly, he's dark and creepy, but shaggy hair and a bad dye job just makes him look sloppy.

Joker´s well-dressed only by his own standards. I have no idea how wearing a purple suit can be considered "well-dressed". I don´t think it makes him look any less neat than having white skin and green hair does.

I think what he means is that The Joker has a sense of style to him, almost a violent elegance. True, the Joker has his own sense of style, but he's hardly a sloppy dresser.

Oh God I do hate that. There is so few ways for a character inspired by the Joker to look. Most, if not all have been copied countless times. Of course there is going to be similarities.

You know something guys, they did say the Joker would have a more Gothic look to him. Why are you acting so surprised he has similarities to the crow anyway? I think his look in TDK is perfect for the character. We may not be used to it now, but from what I'm seeing so far, this is by far the best on screen representation of Mr. J. And before you say anything like "This Joker sucks, he should fall into a vat of chemicals" or whatever, watch the film, then judge it yourself. You guys are clearly not giving Nolan enough credit just because one character doesn't suit your needs. I mean jesus, "Slaughter is the best medicine"? How can you not say that isn't Joker? If the look doesn't suit you, then his personality certainly will.

Yeah, this is one of the most annoying things about the boards... They get a Joker who looks creepy and psychotic, has the red lips, the pale skin and green hair, even the frikking purple suit, but is also its own look, and they keep coming up with excuses to bash it cuz of nitpicky/petty reasons... Joker wasn´t the first bad guy with pale skin, and he wasn´t the first bad guy with maniac smile and laughter, he was based on a movie, "The Man Who Laughs", and thank God back then you didn´t have fans anal enough to reject the character based on that, in pop culture those elements are always influencing and feeding off each other, it´s a dynamic and fluid process, but some fans seem to have monolithic minds where if everything isn´t 100% their way, it´s the highway.

Thank you. That's what I meant. Of course his taste is bad, but his suits are sharp, and his hair neat. His look is important to him, and if he has a shaggy, untidy look to him throughout the whole film, that is a departure.

Except the reports have stated that The Joker's hair is slicked back. And even in these pictures, his hair is long, not messy. And his purple suit looks pretty stylish to me.

I dunno, Keyser. That pic above, quoted by Rynan, has pretty BIG hair, doesn't look very slicked back (I know the reports say different, so presume the pics don't really capture that). Same with the jakcet - that looks more like a bomber/military type jacket than a suit jacket. Again, it may be the pics.

As long as he has a huge sense of vanity I'm good, whether it looks especially neat or not. He does look like a snappy dresser though. His appearance getting progressively disheveled as he gets more and more pissed off I like alot

It IS the pics. Look closer at those recent pictures of The Joker. He isn't even wearing a jacket! He's not in full costume yet. Not in a jacket. Not in gloves. Look closely, and you'll see two different textures. i say it's a shirt, with a velvety waistcoat over it.

I gotta apologize for this first, sorry, but Ledger jokers look, sort of kind of reminds me a lil bit of this version of the joker from an episode of The Batman;

I'm not trying to start a pro/con discussion of The Batman, I'm just saying, theres a little bit of a similarity. Fun.

Kind of cool, even the colour of the suit is pretty similar to what we've heard and seen so far.

But I just hope Heath's Joker doesn't sound like this Joker

Both have white skin, green hair, and wearing purple, but only one of them is neat and tidy, with slicked-back hair and a decent suit. So it's not just those elements that determine his style.

Maybe it is normally slicked back, and for the moment it is just messy? i.e. its messy here cause he's in a back of a truck running from police and Batman. Maybe he was in a fight? Or maybe they didn't brush his hair yet?

And for the bank pic...he had just taken off his mask, so his hair would be disheveled. So maybe his hair is orderly in parts and messy in others, which would be more realistic than a James Bond hairdo

You're right too. That pic is Joker wearing just his vest and shirt. His suit jacket is purple without a question.

Nice - just like Ducard was Al Ghul, the twist to this film will be that it's not a "gag", it's a real, pale, deformed white face.
