The unedited cut had nearly four hours of footage.

lol To be fair to X3 the editing was probably far worse for Spider-Man 3 and Superman Returns. They cut out probably 30/40 minutes of extra scenes for those.

I want to see a recut of X3 with Bobby and Colossus vs Phat, Storms tidal wave, and anything they left out with Colossus and Angel.

True. I can't believe they cut the mirror scene from SM3, I was really expecting to jump watching that scene and then nothing happened.

Didn't fox remove half the deleted scenes from most of the DVD's so they could re-release a Director's Cut... purposely saving them like they did with Daredevil and Fantastic Four... and then a while later re-inserting them to create an effectively selling double dip.

Plus maybe I am over looking something but what about the prison guard "F-bomb" scene.... what are people opinions on it?

I think this Dvd will see the light the same year as X4, so think about 2009, 2010?

Are we really gonna see an X-Men 4? Do we WANT to see an X-Men 4? I've always been of the opinion that X3 was not so much a terrible movie, as it was disappointing. Clearly some footage was cut and replaced that would have made for better "moments" in the film, but the big issues still remain; the killing off of Scott, thus making Logan and Storm the focal points on the team, and the barebones handling of Phoenix in general. Not to mention the fact that the studio refuses to use any other real villains from the comics. It's like the Superman franchise and their insistence in getting Gene Hackman as Luthor for three out of four movies. I think a storyline involving a mutant cure would have been a perfect opportunity to showcase Sinister. He could be in opposition of it just as much as Magneto.

What are you talking about? Which movie?

It's X-men 3... it's the line where the black prison guard on board the convey tells Mystique morphed into the president to "Mr. President shut the f*** up!"

Im not getting this film until an extended version is released

WTF when is the extended special edition being released know how long I've been f'n waiting! DAMN AVI ARAD!

Well, he doesn't say "shut the "f***" up." He just says "Shupt up!" But I loved the following line:

"Keep it up. I will spray you in the face, b****!" :woot:

Same here. I haven't even bought the first edition that came out in October since I heard that the US was getting screwed over(one disc, less deleted scenes....wtf?). I've been waiting for the 2-disc extended edition to be announced for a while.

If the extended edition see the light one day, I really doubt the film will be better, maybe if they add the Psylocke scenes and a few new more yes, but if all the new material is the one from the DVD's won't be as great, in my opinion. I want real new scenes.

does anybody have ACCURATE descriptions of what was taken out of the movie? things that were actually shot? past the deleted scenes and such?

bump
Are they ever going to make this a reality?

Yes to an extended edition.

Are we likely to get one? Probably not, though they did do one for Fantastic Four. Maybe something around the time of the Wolverine movie? (A Blu-ray trilogy at least!)

wow I remember this thread. Ah, 2006 was a crazy year.

I bought the Fantastic Four EE dvd and didnt not like it. It was BADLY edited together. Daredevil DC was better only cuz the director was involved. But then again I also loved the theatrical version.

I'm really torn with this issue. Cuz do we want an Extended Cut that was poorly put together at the last minute to sell more dvds or do we actually want Ratner back to oversee the 'director's cut'? Overall there were scenes in both the theatrical version and deleted scenes that were good and bad but honestly it wont do any good.

Now what I really would like to see is the alleged Ultimate X-Men comicbook that Singer and Co. were to write that told their story of X3/X4.

The thing with that is it wouldn't necessarily be what they had in mind way back just after X2, nor would it reflect how a finished movie version would look. After all the fan blabbering for two years, they might be influenced to alter what they had in mind just so it satisfied what some of the complainers want. Then the complainers and whiners would say 'See, their movie would be so much better' when a comic is not a finished movie and it wouldn't necessarily be the 'pure' version they had in mind way back when.
