No, it doesn't matter, but I think red and yellow would've been more striking.

It's striking as it is for one simple reason - contrast. The blue lighting brings that contrast to a full red suit. Look at the background here.

The city lights (buildings, street lights etc.). They're all yellow and orange. Put a yellow lightning around the red suit and it will all mash together. You won't be able to tell them apart. The blue makes the red stand out and vice versa.

it makes sense why they used blue. it goes better with the color tone, gradient of the movie. the original yellow would be too bright and would stand out.

The point of the above picture was, I think its acceptable for different artists to draw/portray the lightning differently. Whatever looks cooler.
