Justice League Ezra Miller Is The Flash - Part 2

This iteration of the flash moves faster than anyone can see. How would anyone besides superman be able to tell?

Superman should have taken him to the side after their race and been like
“You really gotta work on your form”

Flash jumps ahead while running as he is also moving at great speed, which generates enough momentum in forward direction. Which explains his unconventional running style.

That was my reasoning and it does make sense to me...it of course looks weird to us because we (humans) have a very well defined imagine of what "a person running" looks like, adjusted to real world physics and all that; while this movements of Barry, very likely accurate to the physics involved, are completely alien to us.

This phenomenon has a name (when our brains see something as "fake" simply because we have no referent of it, basically our brains refusing to accept it and going "nope, nope, nope!"), but I can't remember...

I also believe that the arms movement has to do with him fighting the resistance his body encounters, the electricity he's generating and to impulse himself forward keeping his balance; now I'm not saying that all of this would be physically accurate, I'm saying that maybe that was the reasoning behind these specific choices made with his running style.

There’s something to be said about a perceived absurdity negating any semblance of accuracy or reasoning (IF that, and frankly I’m doubtful).

Everyone has made fun of it or found it off-putting. That alone is grounds for removing it in the future if Ezra returns. If Superman started flapping his arms during flight it would be equally as bad, regardless if that’s how one would actually need to navigate with flight powers.

Yup. The closest is speed skating, which itself can look funny at times.

For me, if you have to explain something to people, then it failed.

Well, if something is shown on screen which is not a part of your everyday experience than it will look odd, which is not the a flaw as many people think but rather it has some logic behind it, which can be explained.

Exactly, it looks ridiculous and it needs to go. Superman doesn't flap his arms, doesn't have Kryptonian engines attached to his feet, Aquaman doesn't kick his legs and move his arms when he swims. Science should only be used in movies when it works not if it makes things worse.
They should have stuck with Flash running like a sprinter.

Imagine living in a world where everything caters to lowest common denominator, mediocrity everywhere, everything is sanitized, ..sounds like an idea for a movie.

Isnt that the plot of a Mike Judge movie?

Edit : Yep idiocracy.

*adds it to 'must watch' list of movies*

Yeah i thought the premise was interesting too, but the movie ended up being borinng. If you wanna see somethin similar but far better watch Black Mirror S1E2.

I thought they were trying to recreate some of the iconic images of The Flash running from the comics. The way Barry runs in many of the modern comics isn't exactly "normal" running form. Arms swinging at extreme angles, legs wide apart, etc.

I dont agree with this. Challenging your audiences is not a bad thing, and we dont always need to be spoonfed everything.
This wouldn't fall under that category though. There’s nothing being “challenged” in the way that’s respective of bold artistic endeavors. There’s nothing gained by understanding what they were going for. It’s a running form which looks hilariously bad. This isn’t the hill to die on. :funny:

Oh it was more of a general point. I'm not referring to the Flash thing, which im totally ambivalent on. I think it looks weird too, which Im not sure if its supposed to be that way. Whats weird is he doesnt do the weird run in all his speedforce scenes.

Speaking of skating, a lot of WW's movements resemble skating or sliding on ice when she does her slides; but they chose to do it in a way where she doesn't look ridiculous.

Again, anyone moving with great speed will build up momentum that will make them look like they are skating, which is why Flash's running style resembles that of Speed skaters.

But, people want him to run like a Marathon runner would run.

And again! Flash's movements look ridiculous while WW's look sleek and appealing to the eye.

When I saw Flash running in Justice League I just assumed he looked that way because he was supposed to be running really fast. It never occurred to me that I was supposed to think it was weird or funny or ridiculous.
I guess I tend to miss out on the deeper meaning of some movies and just watch them for what they are.

I always thought that the final group shot with the fist bump was Snyder's and then Whedon retroactively inserted the other scene between Vic and Barry with the "ok, we're not there yet"; who knows?
