How would aquaman see him running?
This iteration of the flash moves faster than anyone can see. How would anyone besides superman be able to tell?

Flash jumps ahead while running as he is also moving at great speed, which generates enough momentum in forward direction. Which explains his unconventional running style.
That was my reasoning and it does make sense to me...it of course looks weird to us because we (humans) have a very well defined imagine of what "a person running" looks like, adjusted to real world physics and all that; while this movements of Barry, very likely accurate to the physics involved, are completely alien to us.
This phenomenon has a name (when our brains see something as "fake" simply because we have no referent of it, basically our brains refusing to accept it and going "nope, nope, nope!"), but I can't remember...
I also believe that the arms movement has to do with him fighting the resistance his body encounters, the electricity he's generating and to impulse himself forward keeping his balance; now I'm not saying that all of this would be physically accurate, I'm saying that maybe that was the reasoning behind these specific choices made with his running style.
Theres something to be said about a perceived absurdity negating any semblance of accuracy or reasoning (IF that, and frankly Im doubtful).
Everyone has made fun of it or found it off-putting. That alone is grounds for removing it in the future if Ezra returns. If Superman started flapping his arms during flight it would be equally as bad, regardless if thats how one would actually need to navigate with flight powers.
Imagine living in a world where everything caters to lowest common denominator, mediocrity everywhere, everything is sanitized, ..sounds like an idea for a movie.
Isnt that the plot of a Mike Judge movie?
Edit : Yep idiocracy.
*adds it to 'must watch' list of movies*
This wouldn't fall under that category though. Theres nothing being challenged in the way thats respective of bold artistic endeavors. Theres nothing gained by understanding what they were going for. Its a running form which looks hilariously bad. This isnt the hill to die on.I dont agree with this. Challenging your audiences is not a bad thing, and we dont always need to be spoonfed everything.

Speaking of skating, a lot of WW's movements resemble skating or sliding on ice when she does her slides; but they chose to do it in a way where she doesn't look ridiculous.
