BvS Ben Affleck IS Batman!! - Part 1

My point is these websites don't have WB inside sources. They couldn't leak anything because they didn't have any real casting news to break.

Casting choices fanboys were wrong to complain about: Heath Ledger, Michael Keaton

Casting choices fanboys were right to complain about: Kirsten Dunst, Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner, Nicholas Cage, Topher Grace, Ben Affleck (as Daredevil), Jessica Alba, Vinnie Jones, George Clooney, etc.

And then there were the ones that seemed like good ideas but turned out to be terrible like January Jones....

To all the people bringing up DD, I'm curious, if Gosling was cast you many of you be bringing up Young Hercules and the other stuff he did before he turned his career around?

DD was made during an era when F4 was big, not too long after studios(fox) were still in the transition from the 90's bat films. And Raimi's spiderman was the top dog, a film which was very much on the corny side.

For anyone to think that in a post nolan landscape, the guy replacing bale(of all people) is going to be directed by the guy who didn't "let superman smile enough" and turned superman into a "gangster"(fanboys), turned pa kent into a pragmatist and turn all the clowns he cast in watchmen into hardened psychopaths....and this performance is going to be something worth comparing to DareDevil and Jersey girl? Sorry but people are being willfully dense.

DD is the one with the play ground fight with all the wires and Colin Ferrel in full on clown mode.
What makes more sense, is ben going to give a grounded performance similar to his more recent stuff or his decade old stuff. Think hard.

How much more does the Daredevil role have in common with Batman versus Affleck's recent roles.

Think harder.

I think this is a great cast considering:

- He is THE MOST look alike Bruce Wayne we´ve ever got.
- Even if his acting skills are not that great as lot of people say (I don´t agree with it), the more reason he can take a role of a cold, emotionless figure (Unless you expect a Shakesperean Batman).

The only thing I ASK WB, is to make this Batman the SAME Batman from the Nolanverse. Makes total sense. They are looking for an experienced and battered Batman. Which totally fits the ending of the TDKR. An honest truth, if I were WB, I would not want just to throw away 7 years and tons of million dlls of three movies.

Besides it would be a great opportunity to keep Hathaway as Catwoman.

Your thoughts?

My only concern is Snyder still directing. I don´t want another DragonBallesqué movie... I think Nolan gave him waaay to freedom in MoS.

You had me until you said continue the Nolanverse.....why would they do that?

For me bale wasn't nearly as intense enough, and not charismatic enough. Two things I'm sure Snyder will pull out of Ben.

I'm looking forward to seeing Bale out done personally.

Ok, now that I think about it, Ben can pull of the charismatic side, but I found Bale's intensity to be just fine in the trilogy.

Overall, I'm still excited to see a movie with Batman and Superman teaming up. A lot of fans seem to think they're going to fight it out like in The Dark Knight Returns from a number of posts I've read, but I think it's going to be similar to the Avengers, mainly the IM/Captain confrontation. They're going to butt heads a little bit but come together fairly quick.

Marvin, I heavily agree with what you said about Affleck's acting. That his acting style or quality will be more like his recent films and not at all like DD.

The majority of times, we were right, then. Atleast in your opinion.

Should I boycott the film now? Or should I be surprised how good he is?
But what if he isn't good at all? What will happen then?

Any round-up that excludes Daniel Craig in the first category is incomplete.

I just hope there's another big bad besides Luthor to make their team-up more logical and necessary. Like Luthor creates Metallo or Parasite or a Doomsday like creature. Ya know?

Cause Bats and Supes versus Luthor, no matter how smart he is or how many gadgets he employs, is a one-sided affair.

That's actually what I WANT. Why else would Batman try to bring down Superman if he didn't think the character was a threat?

I think afan's intent was he feels Batman ain't that stupid, and I agree.

I'm ok with the first part of the comment not for the Snyder part. batman cannot be introduce in the movie without an origin story and i don't want an origin story. Batman should come out of retirement to investigate on Superman after the event of metropolis.

I was only using superhero examples.

There are literally hundreds of poor casting decisions fans were right to complain about if you want to include ALL movies.

affleck: hello my name is ben

batfans: what r u acting as batman or sumthing???

Im sure its already been mentioned, but its kinda kool that he is ( as far as I know ) the only actor to play Batman and Superman ( sorta )

But what if he isn't good at all? What will happen then?

I'd say remain skeptical and if Affleck is good you will be pleasantly surprised.

No need to boycott. We'll know if Affleck is good before the movie gets released.

I'm beside myself. I just hope he isn't as stubbly as he was in DD! I also want to see him change his voice for both Bruce Wayne and Batman. I don't want to hear Ben Affleck as Batman. I want Batman as Batman!

But what if he isn't good at all? What will happen then?

Your life will be ruined, there will be mass rioting in the streets, gas prices will go up even more, tsunamis will hit every coast, and the apocalypse will arrive.

Maybe, though I think only genre parts really count, since they tend to carry people's expectations.

Looking at your list, I'm not altogether convinced that the fanboys were always proved right in the latter category. For instance: most fanboys didn't want Halle Berry to play Catwoman because Halle Berry is black. I don't think that was in fact the problem with Catwoman.

I think he'll do good batman also he looks almost like the new 52 Bruce wayne

Truth. A trailer can sometimes give you a pretty decent glimpse at a performance. And if he's barely in it, that usually means too much of his footage is spoiler territory or he's bad in it and they're cutting around him.

Say what you will about The Spirit, but after watching his latest work and performances, Gabriel Macht is my personal choice
