Accurate AF.
Thats the set up, but that's not the ENTIRE story, its actually a minor detail. Did you even make it to Freeside?Go kill the guy who shot you in the head doesn't scream greatness, and that's what those games are needing story - wise, with a good plot and solid characters to interact with, not only one. That's it.

The last time I played the Fallout games it was four years ago, so my memory is failing me, but I did finished all of them.
Like, the the thing I remember most from FL3, besides the vault, it's the last part and what happens with daddy in where you are at the end.
Sorry, tryin' to avoid spoilers.

Can't say I'm excited. I expected darker tone and better visuals. But we barely saw anything, so I'll wait for E3. They will probably show some gameplay.
Made me appreciate Witcher 3 and Arkham Knight visuals a lot more.
You should really give NV another go around and play the DLC. The "find the guy who shot you" part of the game can completed within the first 2-3 hours
Better than the dog**** we got in F03, at least it NV was narratively consistent with the original games.

Of all the tastes you got available to you now...you have to choose the bitter one
Being consistent with the older games doesn't necessarily means that the game is automatically better.
While i do love FO:NV , and it does have better writing in parts, the game was boring compared to FO3 due to it's setting, lack of enemies and it's pretty linear.
But back to FO4
One million views on TY...half of those was mine![]()
So, to give even more credence to the 2015 release, apparently Domino's UK twitter tweeted something about an upcoming promotion they will be running for Fallout 4. The tweet seems to have been deleted, but yeah, if they're already on the verge of running promotions, it's 2015.
They've probably been working on gnus since Skyrim finished up. Maybe before.
I was planning on playing Fallout 3 this Winter, so I kinda hope F4 isn't coming out this Fall.
The exploration in NV is linear, but the narrative is not. The Narrative (main quest) in Fo3 is painfully linear, it does not branch at ALL, you can sequence break certain parts, but its still a straight line, the side quests in FO3 have no real baring and there is so many wasted locations where there is nothing to actually do especially in the DLCs.
Define'Wasted locations'
Just because locations wasn't tied to any of the storyline doesn't mean that it's 'wasted'. It encourage you to go out there and explore instead of being herded to locations like in NV.
There are enourmous details put into each locations in FO3 , that tells it's own story. That is if you paid any attentions to the little details like the skeletons in that school, the Mc Clelan townhome and dozens and dozen other locations like that. Those are not 'wasted locations'....even if they are not locations included in the storyline.
And they do have a purpose in the overall game.It adds to the athmosphere. it rewarded you for exploring. There is nothing like this in NV.
This is something i hope they continue in FO4
exploring just because you want to...not because you're just grinding quests
