Fallout 4

Looks like at least a small part of the game (maybe the beginning) will be in the past, which is pretty darn exciting. Also, can our character speak with a real voice now? He speaks to the dog at the end.

All in all, crazy hyped.

I liked both FO3 and NV.. A lot.. And for different reasons.

Maybe I'm different, lol.

I like both games don't get me wrong, I just feel Bethesda didn't have a proper grasp on the series or its mythology. As a standalone game its fine, as a follow up to Fallout 2, its falls incredibly short. Fallout New Vegas had the benefit of being developed by guys over at Obsidian which is comprised of a lot of the guys that worked on the earlier titles which is why New Vegas is a more direct sequel to Fallout 2.

Fallout 3 should have been Fallout East Coast or Fallout Washington with NV being FO3.

Anyone play FO Tactics? I heard it was pretty bad all around.

its not terrible, its more XCOM than it is Fallout and definitely not as bad as Ps2 Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel

Ok, I get us. I pretty much agree.. But for me it doesnt take away from the fun I have.

As older fan of the the series, it just depends on how invested in the series you were prior to FO3, I went through the end times of van buren and the initial sale of the IP to Bethesda so my expectations were probably higher than someone who was new to the series.

But with a good portion of these locations there is no actual gameplay payoff, you're rewarded with some caps and maybe some ammo. Old Olney and The Dunwich Building pre DLC come to mind, the other vaults etc. I get what your saying about atmosphere, but if I explore an area, and all I get out of it are some shotgun shells and maybe some magazines, it kinda pisses me off.

And that's kind of what i'm pointing out earlier..i don't go to locations because i wanna score some cool loot or grinding quests, the act of exploring the place itself IS the reward for me. To me that is the payoff. The explorations and learning things about the place.

But what are we arguing...it's both Fallout. we all wins!

back to drooling about FO4

We do all win :)

This is me, absolutely. I love the exploration aspect, best part of any open-world game. The tension and suspense of entering a new location can't be beat, especially in Fallout you never know what you'll find!

Looks like fun but I'm waiting to see what's new before I get really excited

Personally I'd love to see something like the Dunwich building again. That was so much fun, especially wearing the ghoul mask. Just wandering around with all those ghouls ignoring you with the visions. :D

I'm excited as can be after that trailer. Exploring New England will be fun and I really really hope that dog companion isn't scripted to die on me.

Maybe a DLC trip to Maine loaded with Stephen King references. Or Rhode Island for Lovecraft.

Ah yes, the Dunwich Building. The greatest place to stumble into low on health with a 32 pistol at night.

I loved climbing to the top of the Washington Monument and just looking outat all the devastation. So cool, and yeah.. the Dunwich Building with the ghoul mask was something else.

Yea this look solid as hell. Ready to head back to the wasteland.

New Vegas used to scare the living **** out of me. Lots of moody places. And, like you said, the suspense of entering a new building or location was awesome.

New Vegas and those damn massive Rad Scorpions... Uuuggghhhh...

Looks fun, i'm getting the PS4 version. A bit underwhelmed with the very lackluster textures...especially the dog. Looks horrible. But it'll still be fun.

Ok..now that old Reddit post regarding FO4 has resurfaced again.

Looks like people starting to believe what that person posted on Reddit about a year ago

this was put up it's for steam but there are other stuff as well console wise

23% Off Fallout 4 Quickie Deal & PlayStation TV Hits $39 Again. June 4, 2015 . 2:00pm

A giant list of deals this week including 23% off Fallout 4 pre-order, the cheapest PlayStation TV, and a boat load of discount Xbox One consoles.

Bethesda’s Fallout 4 was officially announced yesterday. The title is scheduled to release for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC for the standard $59.99 – this being the usual Thursday deal post you probably know where we’re going — yep, PC gamers can grab a 23% off incentive deal at GMG on Fallout 4. The retailer quickly had the game up on their site yesterday morning, within hours after the game was confirmed.

Another noteworthy deal this week includes a hot deal on PlayStation TV. If you missed GameStop’s price drop to $39.99 last month, the same price is back again but the retailer is now Best Buy. Tying its all-time low price, the almost-Vita machine can be quite tempting at this price point – but don’t forget to check the compatible list before you open your wallet.

Last on the docket includes some decent deals at Groupon: a PS4 TLOU bundle with two additional games (albeit one of them is COD: Ghosts, its still about $81 in savings). On the Xbox One selection, up to three bundles under $322 are available.

I'm just watching a video on YouTube breaking down the trailer, and the guy in it mentioned something that I never noticed; The transition from interiors to exteriors appears to be seamless.

That never bothered me in Bethesda's previous games, but it would definitely be a welcome improvement.

It's been done, but I don't know if I would say it's the norm.

Regardless, I was referring specifically to Bethesda's games and not all games.
