Well Joe bon zombie and Outofboose I know that the orginal creator of the fall out series is still around and still making games he made this game that is kinda similar to the old fall out series since he stated in an iterview this year that he can't get the fallout series back cause it's out of reach for himself. but some what up dated and headed to consoles now.

Maybe you two may want to check out the console versions since th current series of fall out isn't working for you both.

I believe this is that interview below.

How are there "unlimited" roleplaying opportunities in FO3? I get exploring and taking in the atmosphere, but there isn't a lot to do in a good portion of the capital wasteland beyond killing stuff.

Great RPGs aren't about the freedom to do what you want. Great RPGs are about your actions and the choices you make along the way and the consequences that come with those choices. FO3 is lacking in the consequence department, nothing you do in the game really affects the main story beyond a few points you can sequence break.

Roleplaying is about feeling you're really playing the role of your character and being able to be in their shoes. That's what Bethesda games do for me immerse me in their universe so I can really be in that characters shoes.

Well we're going nowhere I see and even if I agreed with you the main story is never the main point in BGS game for me. That I make a difference in the "sidequests" ( ie the meat of the game for me works just great for me.

I will however not demean the game you like but its pretty hard when we're trying to compare.

Fair enough, and you perfectly illustrated where our perspectives clash, you view FO3 in the context that its a BGS game in relation to their other games, I view FO3 in the context that it's the third main entry in the Fallout series. And in the context of it being a BGS game, its a decent game, as a sequel to FO2, It left much to be desired to me

Played it on PC, Its a great game, but its a very different beast than Fallout, it is very much a sequel to Wasteland and very XCOM in that regard.

well they said they will be adding some new/different stuff to the console version. well mostly the way it'll play since it's being ported to console and the control overall will be different. but I don't want to steer the thread any further off topic.

To get things back on topic, what are you guys most excited about with FO4? Now that we're in the commonwealth, what kind of locations and factions do you expect to see?

Nice we can appreciate each others perspectives even if we disagree.

Well, obviously I'm excited about the exploring of this new but familiar open world and fallout style environment but I think for me just the plethora of improved mechanics and new things to do in this world.

These games are definitely a whole exceeds the parts for me.

I have to admit that the lore nerd in me is interested in seeing what they'll continue in the ongoing story.

I'm really excited for the PC mods though.

Fallout 4 Season Pass announced
Published 19 mins ago. 20 comments.
Free updates and early 2016 Creation Kit also planned.
Fallout 4 will ship on November 10 alongside a $30 Season Pass granting users access to “all of the Fallout 4 downloadable content” ever released, Bethesda Softworks announced.

Fallout-4-Season-Pass-Ann.jpg

“Since we’re still hard at work on the game, we don’t know what the actual DLC will be yet, but it will start coming early next year,” Bethesda said in a blog post. “Based on what we did for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim, we know that it will be worth at least $40, and if we do more, you’ll get it all with the Season Pass.”

Additionally, Bethesda said it will be doing regular free updates to the game, which will come with not just fixes, but new features, as well. For The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, things like mounted combat, legendary mode, kill cams, visual enhancements, and more were added post-launch. Bethesda said it will work with the community to determine what new things will be added to Fallout 4.

Finally, Bethesda said that it will release the Fallout 4 “Creation Kit” for PC in early 2016, which is the same tool it uses in the studio. PC users will be able to make their own mods, which will “then be coming to Xbox One, and then PlayStation 4.”

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY!

PS4 mods confirmed!

Cool that PS4 users will get mods but good that they stay exclusive to the One/PC for a while. That's the type of exclusivity that i like.. Something that doesn't take away stuff that's in the game.

That being said if I only had a PS4 if obviously get this on that.. But id be a bit worried seeing as in the past Bethesda games ran like crap on the PS3.

Fallout 4 : Player Freedom in an Open World

Posted Sep 15, 2015

In a new in-house interview with Fallout 4 Game Director Todd Howard, the topic turns to how player freedom in an open world is the centerpiece of the game.
According to Howard, the game will deliver a fully-featured shooter experience with depth of character customization.
Some of the ways players can tailor the Fallout 4 experience to best suit their playstyle can come through crafting and modding. According to Howard, FO4 is "all about customization" both in terms of a player's character and in the things that can be created via the Workshop.
Check out these E3 2015 video interviews and leave us your thoughts in the comments.

So I've been playing Fallout 3, despite my issues with it, and New Vegas lately in preparation for Fallout 4, I actually want to see the alien stuff come back in FO4 and I really hope the faction manipulation aspect of New Vegas carries over to the new game.

I hope so too. It was a cool feature, and one I feel could be greatly expanded on. On a similar note, I've often thought it would be neat to be able join/form your own Raider/Bandit group. Traveling the Wasteland would be very different if the Raiders weren't enemies.

Fallout 4 : The Music Man - An Interview with Inon Zur

Posted Sep 22, 2015

Fallout 4 has scored one of the finest composers in gaming and in general with Inon Zur. Bethesda has published a fantastic interview with Mr.
Zur that reveals details about his compositions, the instruments he's to create a unique sound for Fallout 4.
A uniquely modified piano sound is all well and good, but what about that shrill-as -hell garden chair along with all the other banging around? It’s just one of the three major elements that constitute the soundscapes of Fallout: classical instruments; electronic instruments; and a non-musical instrument or an ethnic/primitive instrument. The goal, Zur explains, is for players to hear a particular combination of these instruments and know where they are. “For example, in some parts of the game we decided that the right feel would be more orchestral, but the lead instrument is low accordion,” Zur says. “Other areas, I sampled myself playing this unusual improvised ocarina, which gives all this airiness and shrillness.”
Read the full interview and lend an ear to the two included tracks at the link above. You can also listen to Mr. Zur play the Fallout 4 main theme in the video below.

New video on perception: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paYU1neP3xM Possibly hints a proprietary needs system like hardcore mode in NV. Eating 200 year old food confirmed, which is stupid.

And why is that stupid? All of the "old" food in ANY Fallout game has been canned or boxed food. Never like a raw chicken or anything. Any cooked food is wasteland food. Squirrels, dog, molerats, etc. Which is "fresh".

Besides that...IT'S FALLOUT. Do you see plasma rifles in real life? What about robots?

Even canned and boxed food goes bad eventually. I mean, I don't really care, they also had robot house butler's in the 50s, so assuming the people in Fallout-verse could create preservatives that makes food last hundreds of years isn't really stretching it.
