I, for one, don't mind rubber suits or all-black color schemes. However, the excessive detailing on the Begins suit did bother me a bit. I tried to streamline it and here are the results:

- Slightly tightened the cowl. I didn't add any lenses, though the small eyes might make it seem that way. Removed the cape clips.

- Made the logo a little more prominent and cut out some of the excess detail on the suit/belt. I tried to make it look like body armor with a bat logo stuck on the front.

- Got rid of the shoulder pauldrons(?) but kept the little sleeve under it. Removed the seams fom the gauntlets.

- Attempted to give it some texture, but failed miserably :D.

I wouldn't say it's better than the original, just a little more in line with my own preferences. Any constructive criticism?

I apologize if I'm supposed to post this in one of the existing threads instead of a new one.

Don't apologize. Sometimes it seems like some people here would piss their pants ANY time a new thread gets created. They'll get over it.

I liked your modications in that its more aesthetically pleasing. But I think the small imperfections in the Begins suit (the awkward fitting of the cowl, the visible padding) improve the look, in a way. Makes it seem more authentic, I guess, as opposed to something specially designed by a move studio, you know?

I liked the way you touched up the main body by making the details in the abdomen less clear and brightening the logo a bit. Nice work.

Yeah...he's name's Snipe.

I like the way you hid the clasps. Nice. Not sure about the cowl. Bale's head is looking down after all. Don't know what it'll look like if he's looking directly at you.

I think this "Post in an exisiting thread" stuff is overblown. If someone has something important/interesting to say, they should be able to create a new thread. Forcing someone to post something new into an old thread which has 400 posts in it already is an unfair restriction, since people are much less likely to look in old, overly-saturated threads.

If a new thread turns out to be uninteresting, it will naturally die anyways (people will just stop posting to it). I don't think we should be so uptight about this stuff.

Tell that to the mods who make the rules. We have no control over it.

I have always believed that...but you and I don't make the rules... We have to abide by what lordsnipe says.

I know. In the end, the mods will do whatever they want (which is their right). But for the sake of people getting the most out of the boards, sometimes it pays to be a little flexible with enforcing the rules. Yeah, there's a "costume" thread somewhere here. Does that mean that anytime we want to make a comment about the costume, even if its very substantial and can create lots of new, interesting discussion, that we have to put on some defunct thread with 500+ posts? And what about the people who were having their own discussions on THAT thread? Wouldn't posting a new topic in their thread mess that up?

I don't think the threads should be so general. If someone has something very specific and substantial to say, IMO a new thread often makes sense.

No, Yearone, Photoshop is far from free. It costs hundreds of dollars actually. Last time I checked it was like $500.

Nice try...but about the only thing I like better in the manip is the tighter neck. Everything else...I like the real suit better. Pretty good manip though...

Photoshop Elements came with my computer...

For anyone who has read the script, this is absolutely amazing.

WOW!

Great job.

Let me start this by saying I 100% agree with Durvasa and CConn882. Lately I find myself feeling I'm leaving in Cuba or old Nazi Germany when I have to post here. I have had at least 4 threads I started closed. Not moved or merged but closed. And no real reason given, just a lame "enough threads on this, closing" which sound very authoritarian, actaully I would go farther to say totalitarian. Why didn't it just get merged at least? But this dictartorial actions by mods get strengthened by some members of this board (that have even created a sign for the mods) which have nothing better to do but pick on people that don't share the same opinion as they do and call the mods to delete the thread they don't like. Not becuase it's a non sense thread or anything, but because the thread is not sucking up to Nolan. Very childish to say the least.

Now getting back on topic, ingraman , I think you suit rocks, period. I like it much better than the original BB suit.
"Excessive detailing " , you summarize it all. Too much detail is what is is. I disagree with saying your suit looks more like what a studio would make. The original suit looks very stylized and clearly made by a studio , only to look cool.
Your suit is much more organic, less cybernetic and way more Batman. Great job. What I doin't understand is why fans can design a better suit and the "pros" at WB have to to this? I'm mean, so many fans have posted great original designs which were much better than what we got for BB. (evil genius suit comes to mind). Well done ingraman. This IS Batman.

P.S. my post will probably be deleted (after being flamed to death) or the whole thread will just be closed because there's enough discussion (read bashing) on the BB suit already.

As for the rest of your post, I think you go a little bit too far, sure a thread or two like this should just be left alone...but without the Mods, this place would turn into a IMDB-like board. Complete chaos... What is needed is a nice ballance between the two.

antmanx68 - your DKR image is fantastic - but i couldn't resist adding more dramatic lightning and a blue hue to your image to make it a bit closer to DKR. Oh and of course a pair of lenses.

once again respect to antmanx68 for a great image.

Hey, I said nothing about having no mods. Just no dictatorship either.

I like the changed version better. It's not as fancy. Batmna shouldn't be fancy at all.

If lenses could be used to achieve the evil, animalistic look as in batmac's manip, that'd kick ass. I'm sure it can be done in a way that's cool. I'll never understand why people want to see his eyes while he's in the costume. Sometimes even the most hardcore batman traditionalists (which I'm certainly not) prefer no lenses, which is weird.
