Fantastic Four Animated Series Discussion

Actually, you are more right than I am. A deal is out there. But we agree that deals don't mean a movie will be made. My whole point was that no sequel is anywhere near production, and I don't think one will ever happen. I really just made an offhand comment about someone elses comment about a sequel in the works.

Okay, okay. I'll back down.

I just thought that "it's not even in pre-pre-production" wasn't true. I think there's a few obscure guys working on it. Probably production artists sketching out ideas that will never be used for a film that won't get made, just like all those guys who did drawings for Superman Lives.

But who knows. Maybe it'll happen. If it DOES happen, however, I suspect we'll see a much shorter film with a lower budget.

Wow. A civil discussion about Superman Returns from two people who I assume disagree about the film and it's future...who knew.

Yeah, the only reason I even brought it up was because there are several conflicting superman storylines for the public to digest and there doesn't seem to be any Superman embargo or whatever. And unless the world ends before it hits screens, of course there's gonna be a sequel. There was a Deuce Bigalow sequel for God's sake.

There's no denying the first Deuce Bigalow was a hit though.

I see the 4 switch powers in thiso ne. sueand johnny switch and reed and ben switch.

Word. This was a very well done episode.

"Ow! The pizza bit me!"

-"It didn't bite you. It was probably just hot."

"Hot? Oh yeah...I remember that."

I'd like to have seen Sue as the Thing though, just for the ridiculousness of it. I wonder why Reed kept all five digits though.

i wouldn't mind seeing that myself but i guess the shows writers wanted to keep the power switch the same as in was in the book a couple of years ago:ff:

And also why did reeds suit expend when he became the thing? shouldn't it have ripped? Or was it cause it was made of unstable molecules?

yes i think it was that since reeds uniform is designed to STRETCH his thinglike change wouldn't ruin it

Okay, I just saw a few eps of the cartoon on Brazillian CN and I have to say... Doomsday is a better FF vs. Dr. Doom story than anything in the first movie. Why? a) destroy half of NY, blame Richards and split the FF, THAT´S an evil plan worthy of Doom b) while the show does have quite a few one-liners, the story feels tighter and has a better flow, the comedy doesn´t pull you off the hook of the threat the way it does in the movies.

In general, the good thing is that, while the show modernizes elements of the FF mythos, it doesn´t try too hard to reinvent the wheel the way the MTV spidey series or sometimes The Batman does. Okay, much of the sitcom feel of the movie series is there, but overall it still feels like FF. Characters like Puppet Master and Mole Man are still recognizable in the important elements.

i checed the digital listing for carooon netork next saturday ff's not on they havr a naruto marathon planned

I didn't like this week's episode. Sue and Johnny were just portrayed as being way too STUPID - seriously, they both FORGOT which powers they had?! SERIOUSLY?! And then the "aspects of our personalities must have switched too" never went anywere... nor did it get even the slightest explanation.

I wonder who the robochick working for Doom this week was. It's possible that she was in a previous episode that just hasn't aired yet, since Cartoon Network is airing the episodes WAAAAY out of their intended order. :whatever:

The explanation is simple, the powers are reflective of the character´s personalities, so the transfer also ocurred psychologically to some extent, Ben was suddenly being able to give complex explanations, Reed was having a hard time concentrating, Johnny was worried about people´s feelings, etc.

But I´ll agree that Johnny forgetting not once - which is really stupid already -, but TWICE that he couldn´t "flame on" anymore was way too ******ed.

johnny [literaly] fell victim to force of habit

And so did Sue.

And yet, they're portrayed as complete morons for doing so. There's nothing more obvious than the most pressing issue on their plates...

Yeah, it was supposed to be the main thing on their minds at that point, it´s not a trivial thing like forgetting your car keys or something, it´s okay that they don´t master these powers yet, but just forget that such a big thing happened is pretty silly and condescending. It´s the kind of humor that has played against the movie as well. You can be funny and lighthearted without underestimating your audience´s IQ.

I like how Susan is awfully concerned about her hair. She made a small fuss in this episode when she blazed and in Impossible when Impy was all over her.

considering that the episode title is "anhilation" i thinbk its a safe bet

When's the Shulkie ep gonna air?
