Far Cry 6

. . . you don't see *anything* political about a revolution overthrowing a dictator?

I don't deny that is indeed political, but what I meant earlier is in terms of Far Cry story (looking back at its previous series), this is not the first time in FC games that features a story which pit a revolution army againts a dictactorship authoritian (like I stated, in Far Cry 4 which has similar premise with FC6, but in that game, I feel there is not much political statement besides (again) a revolution by a group of rebels againts a tyrant authority). The main character motivation, the villain's motivation, and the story background in that game, its all personal.

But it is interesting if FC6 is indeed has political theme as its core story and characters. (As the article that psylockolussus share above).
perhaps I can learn more about political climates told in the game while still having fun playing it. Hehe.

Character's images (from Ubisoft's IG).

Same with Kassandra from AC: Odyssey, I guess the girl's Dani Rojas is the actual canon character rather than her man's counterparts, as she is the one who has been featured heavily in the promo.
(Of course she is the one I will choose to play, haha)

And hope Anton Castillo has the same strong villain's presence and charisma as Pagan Min (from FC4).

To me, whoever is the more featured in the marketing is the canon lead.

Kassandra is almost unpresent in Ac Odyssey's marketing.

They'll probably tell us at some point who is the canon lead.

Kassandra is canon in AC, and she is the character the devs and writers started with, but the publisher wanted a male lead so the devs included Alexios as an optional protagonist to make the publishers and marketing happy.

I would play as the female version of Dani. She looked like she had a good edge to her.

I saw the gameplay.
It makes me more exciting for this game!

It feels like a combination of Far Cry 3 and 4.

I just finished replaying FC3, FC5, and FC New Dawn, and now I am currently replaying FC4. It is my 5th walkthrough overall. I try to get it into 100% this time completing every area and side mission before I start FC6 next month. It never bores me playing and exploring in the FC4's environment, (It is still my no.1 favorite in the series), though the tower climbing is so much dragging and I dont like the Shang-rila side mission, haha.

Heard that FC6 will have the biggest map in the series so far, so hope this game will deliver of its hype.

I'm unfamiliar with the series but the faces you see in the boX art of Far Cry 3/4/5 are appearing in the dlc.

Far Cry 6 Season Pass Confirms Reappearance of Far Cry Villains

Thats Vaas, Pagan Min, and Josep Seed (villain in FC3, FC4, and FC5).
Far Cry always have its villain to be marketed as the cover of the game instead of the protagonist (who we almost barely see what their faces is looks like until Far Cry 6). Haha.

The chance of playing from the point of view of the villain is interesting. Glad I pre ordered the Ultimate Edition with full season pass.

I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve loved all the marketing for FC6.

Far Cry 6 Won't Feature Ray Tracing On PS5 and Xbox Series X - IGN

"Ray Tracing is a PC-only feature," Ubisoft told TechRadar in a new statement. "On console, our objective has been to take advantage of new hardware capabilities, optimizing performance targeting 4K and achieving 60 FPS for instance, all while ensuring that the experience on the previous generation of console would remain consistent."

So current generation consoles are missing out because of last gen consoles. I dont mind the lack of ray tracing, but I paid a lot for a PS5 so I dont like devs being lazy and using last gen as an excuse.

"We don't want to have the next Cyberpunk 2077-style PR disaster" is hardly an excuse. . . or at least if its an excuse its a pretty good one. The simple fact is that there are way to hell more PS4s and XBones in the wild than the new gen consoles. This is the flipside of the backward compatibility coin- if you aren't hard cutoff from the past generation, you have an incentive to cater primarily to the larger audience, not the newer one.

This game has been in development for 4 years, has had an 8 month delay, and it's a long existing IP that carries over a lot from previous entries. If the inclusion of ray tracing is enough to cause a Cyberpunk disaster the devs and management have seriously mismanaged the production. So it feels like an excuse for laziness or incompetence. Plus this is Ubisoft. Laziness and incompetence is kinda what they do all too often.

I agree there's some laziness/incompetence here.
On console, our objective has been to take advantage of new hardware capabilities

But... RT is a new hardware capability on consoles! :funny: If Insomniac Games can manage just fine balancing graphics and RT performance with Miles Morales, then I don't see why Ubisoft cannot do it as well... I guess they could support RT in a future patch.

Sidenote: This gen's consoles are powered by AMD and their ray tracing is nowhere near Nvidia's. The latter has poured a **** ton of money into R&D and machine learning for years. AMD also doesn't have an answer (yet) to Nvidia's DLSS which is a considerable boon.

PC it is then for this. If it’s ever on Gamepass I want to compare how different the console and pc version look without/with ray tracing.

So I haven't kept up on a lot of FC6 coverage, are there any normal guns in this game? Because a majority of the footage I've seen are fictional junker guns. I hate the way they all look.

Yes there are rifles, pistols and bows.

Looking forward to what Giancarlo has done in the villain role for this.

Finally Tomorrow is the release day!!
So exciting!

Yeah...I really love by what Ubisoft's marketing has done with him in the marketing campaign on the last few days.

When he answered fan question about whether Vaas is actually Diego...his answer was hilarious:D
"That man straight out of a failed boyband..." hahaha

Yeah...I really missed the actual weapon choice in FC3, FC4, and FC5. I think the junk weapons started in FC New Dawn. And it continued into FC6.

I dont know much about real world's guns and riffle but my favorite gun is Buzzshaw from Far Cry 4. Its impact and damage was tremendous (I never have to use RPG again to destroy helicopters when I have Buzzshaw) haha.

Got the game today! (The Ultimate Edition)

Already spent the first 3 hours of the game and what I can say is when ubisoft said that FC6 will have the biggest map in all FC series...they arent kidding...
the map is sooo hugeeee here!
I will take my time to explore each areas and playing this game from now on. :)

This is definitely the prettiest game Ubisoft has ever made.

The shooting is so damn good with the haptic feedback of the PS5, and the audio mix is great.

The machete kills in this game seem more brutal, and the enemy faction has female soldiers. It feels a bit dirty watching the male protagonist stab a woman in the back, the chest, and then hack at her neck and face three or 4 times while she cries out.
