....and I think everyone's opinions will change.

Does anyone remember the Batman Begins boards right after the movie came out? Sure, there were a lot of positive reviews, but there were also a lot of people slamming the movie because it "wasn't like the Batman's before."

Now look....people keep praising Batman Begins, calling it one of the best super hero films of all time.

What changed? People change. Their opinions change. People think about the movie so much that they basically create it in their minds. They know Venom will be in the movie so they recreate what they feel Venom's fight should be like. When it is a little different they are up in arms.

Back to Batman Begins, I remember reading reviews of the movie before I saw it. People spoke about too many characters, the movie moved too fast and they didn't like when Scarecrow didn't look like "they" wanted him to look (sound familiar?). It made me nervous but I saw it 3 times in theaters and loved it.

Mark my words. This will happen with SM3. As soon as the dvd comes out, the same haters will be the first on in line to buy it. And when SM4 is in production (it will happen) those same haters will be the ones saying how good SM3 was and how hard it will be to top it.

yeah I agree. I think after the initial shock, people's opinions will begin to change and will accept the film for what it is. It's still a decent movie and a lot better than most superhero films out there. I think people need to give the movie a break.

I'm expecting the opposite. The Spiderman 3's honeymoon will last far less than Batman begins' one.

a year from now people will be seeing The dark knight and thinking this is what spider man 3 should have been a MASTERPIECE !!!

Opinions probably will change. I was disappointed with Spider-Man 2 when it first came out, now I love it.

Aside from people posting to get reactions and be funny( they didn't like it and that's cool.)

i think the general feeling that it's the weakest of the three, but not Batman and Robin bad. 7 of 10 probably.

I learned my lesson after this movie. I'm not going to expect much from The Dark Knight. It could end up being rubbish for all we know. I didn't expect anything from Batman Begins or Fantastic Four and ended up enjoying myself a lot. Spider-Man 3 was a fun movie and I think I would have enjoyed myself more if I hadn't gotten caught up in all the hype.

Oh I don't know, it's hard to say...If anything I think people will like it even less, I think I probably will...although I hope not.

I think its true.........the intial shock will were off and then we will grow to love the movie. Personally I really like it and sure there were a few things I would have changed (make the damn Venom fight alot longer)but as time goes by I will learn to love it.

Yeah, that's how I would rate the movie. 7/10 is decent. Not great, but not bad either.

My opinion wont change. (Doc Ock, I'm talking to you, bro lol)

sm3 imo is the best of the 3.

A lot of people said the exact same thing after X3 came out about Spider-Man 3. I'm just going to try to keep my expectations at neutral for TDK so I won't be in for a disappointment.

I find it funny all the Superman and Batman marks coming in here to cause havok, just cause in the past their films took tumbles and sucked.

Spider-Man 3 was good, better then most of the Superman movies, better then the Batman movies (90's era.)

I had a great time watching it twice, and trust me on a second viewing, its plays SOO much better and really the **** people are complaining about dont' hold up.

Spider-Man stories have always been a romance story i think, between MJ and Pete, with the action thrown in, unlike the rest of comic book movies, which is basically the other way around. Or if you want a stalker movie(i.e SR).

All three Spidey movies are great and great on their own, if you watch them back to back, each hold up in a different way, they are their own movie.

I think people are just a bit shocked, cause this i the first real COMIC BOOK style Spidey movie. It is not as realistic (as close as you can get), Sandman and Venom are not realistic characters like we saw in the past with Goblin and Ock. ANd the great comedy bits with Peter, was fantastic and had me and both auidences i saw it with rolling.

So the haters better get over it and worry over something else that really means something.

Amen to that.

I remember these exact same threads over at the X3 board saying how everyone will think it's a masterpiece a year from now

Nope... this movie will be another ROTS... it was amazing when you first saw Sith in the movies... then when you broke it down... it was like all the other prequels and it didn't grow on you... SM3 is a little different in that you are comparing to superior films in SM1/SM2... but in the end... I don't think its a movie you can enjoy over and over again without fast forwarding to the few good scenes here and there...

Look guys; we're all such huge dorks for these superheroes that we spend alot of time on an internet message board dedicated to their movies. What does that mean? It means we're gonna want the movies to be perfect.

If I'm such a Batman geek that I'm on SHH trying to find out about the production of TDK a year in advance, of course I'm going to be overly negative or frustrated if I see it in a year and it's not exactly what I was hoping for.

It's the way of the fanboy. Everyone needs to calm down and gain a little perspective.
