yea, i guess u could say he won. But i think y same didnt like Venom becuz he was inhuman an had no soul. thats why Alvin wrote the script, an topher was casted, Eddie Brock began to have a soul an thats when he grew to love the charecter.

I think a better explanation is the suits told him to include Venom.

That's why I don't get why people are jumping for joy because venom resembles a mcfarlane design. Even if he didn't, he'd still be perfectly fine because Raimi can do no wrong.
In your opinion he can do no wrong. Raimi is just as fallible as everyone else making the movie.
Just like the people writing the comics.
You are talking just like the comic book fan posters you are debating against.
Making blanket statements doesnt prove anything but that you are unwilling to change your opinion.

Realism. Who's talking about that?

I'm saying the comics don't matter... Only haters think they do.

I'm gonna have to sig that

i just dont think sandman is needed AT ALL....

you could tell raimi wanted him as a personal fav. and the studio/fans demanded venom...... so he just added everything.and raimi won the battle because sandman is somehow the main villain(bigger than venom and GG2? ).

Your missing the point.

Its not about sandman being a "bigger" villain than venom. If you paid any attention at all, you'd be aware that venom is being pushed as a marketing device over sandman...BIG TIME.
Venom in this movie is gradually being developed 'till we get him but until then we're getting an already existing plot device in Harry seeking revenge and sandman for the obvious reason that he's a born criminal who gets ahold of some powers and starts his massacre mission right away.

God, some spidey "fans" try, empahsis on try to think too damn hard that they completely forgo any sort of chronological thought.:o

thats the truth
Avi is the one who told him to put Venom in there

I'm tired of this stupidity.

So what if Doc Ock had only 7 scenes in Spider-man 2. Jameson only had 3 scenes in Spider-man. He had only like 6 in Spider-man 2.

You miserable fanboys and haters with your stopwatches and your number crunching.

It's about how effectively these characters are utilized in the screen time they are given.

How much more screen time could Doc Ock have realistically had? Let it go.

Also Venom isn't what's being marketed the most for this movie so far. What they are marketing is Peter in the black costume and falling into a darker side of his persona.

And now we have multiple new poster images featuring Goblin II, Sandman, Venom, Black Costume Spidey/Peter etc.

Either way the major storyline of this movie is Peter acquiring the black suit and turning to the darkside. And just like the other movies the important story focuses on PETER and what's happening with him.

I know the haters that are miserable don't like that and want MORE villains and more action, but they've forgotten about how the best stories truly focus on and tell us about Peter Parker/Spider-man.

^ i agree with that, and i have a little more to add
who's name carries the franchise? not Venom, not Doc Ock
it's called SPIDER-MAN
bottom line

Like I told Sam Raimi and co. at Comic Con, the haters need to watch LXG and Batman and Robin so then they'd really have something to complain about.

Even at Comic Con I predicted haters were waiting with baited breath to type crap on the movie online.

This movie is NOT Venom: The Movie. It's not Sandman: The Sandy Crack. It's not Green Goblin 2: Electric Boogaloo.

It's Spider-man.

I am not looking forward to Spider-man 3 as much as say Batman Begins 2, Superman Returns 2 or even the Prestige because I think Spider-man 1 and 2 are fairly overrated.

That being said, everythign I see about Spider-man 3 makes me want to see it more and more.

This is what I find myself saying constantly on these boards. These characters are in the movie because they serve a purpose in teling Spidey's story.

But some people just watch these films for the villains which is a big :down .

Well that's why we aren't miserable haters that don't get aroused by bulging muscles.

Exactly.

Cheers.

Personally I think this will be the best one I loved the first one and didn't much care for the second one. The only thing that is getting me down is the goblin basically being in every single movie im not a fan of him and wish he would go away. Ill be honest the reasons I think this one will be the best is the fact that it seems more emotional and a little darker oh and of course Venom.

Screw Sandmand and Osborn and Goblin can die anytime as long as I have Venom and a movie with heavy substance im happy

I agree, this will be the best. 2nd one was the best untill this one. Goblin wasn't in 2. Hinted near the end, but not a part of the main plot. I dunno what you are seeing. I see the last one as being better because they get better as they go. Deeper, more into the story. I doubt 3 will be the last with soem of the cast either. unless the script writers completely **** up and pull some lame ass crap with no real good continuation. Tobey and Sam said they would come back if there were "more good stories to tell" which leave it all resting on whoever writes a good script for 4 continuing 3. So these writers better get on the damn ball.

See now, I'm not a hater. You seem to think that it's wrong to find one single thing wrong with the movie's production.

Think theses way too many plots, thats it.

and Sandman killing Uncle Ben, which Rami pretty much confirmed at CC.

Actual That is what I am refering to the fact that he was even the used is just disapointing. I didn't care for two at all but then again Ock is one of my least favirote comic villans of all time.

:o What has more substance Best Friends fighting each other or some a one note villian made famous for his "cool" factor?

There are to many problems with the "Best Friends fighting each other"

There was barley enough time with them as friends before they started to drift apart over Mary Jane

also it's always more interesting to see a new villian than the same one over and over they are movies in the comics we will get hundreds more but in the movies we get 3 maybe it will go up to 5 but I don't see it going past that I don't want to see Spiderman vs Goblin or some form of Goblin in 4 out of 5 of the movies hell I don't want to see spiderman vs Harry in all 5 movies.

The selling point for me has nothing to do with friendship being torn apart which was the exact same theme in the last two to me the big part of this movie is the inner strugle that Peter faces between the Dark Spiderman and his normal persona. The cool little villian is fun and a nice bonus but I love the villians being a side note or an addition to the story but not being the whole story. I also dislike repetitiveness.
