Out of the past 4 Batman movies which one is your favorite and why?

i would have to say like most people lol Batman : The Dark Knight i mean it was played and acted out great. words can't explain it lol it was just a awsome movie no doubt about it.

89 and Returns all the way. Begins and TDK right after that but the first two are what I think of when I Batman and how he should act, look, think, etc.

Four? According to my count, there are six. ( Starting with Batman '89 )

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are infinitely better Batman movies...

better acted,
significantly better stories,
a much more competent and well-rounded director (Yet Tim Burton still is my favorite director)

They are simply better FILMS!

Yet... there is something about Michael Keaton in that batman suit that screams batman to me and always will.

There have been so many versions of Batman in the comics that I really don't think that any is wrong.

Being and older fan I grew up with the O'Neil and Addams Batman. I love the tone and look of that Batman. Sure its outdated but the subject matter and complex charaters are just Batman to me. Brubaker and Loeb kind of get that today and very few others.

Nolan and Bale give me the Batman that I've always wanted to see on film. Sharp stories, complex characters and some great action. I also love the respect that they show the comics with tidbits here and there while creating their Batman. I've never minded people making changes over the years but the Nolans seem to respect these iconic figures more than some other directors. Kind of like the animated series did.

Youse hit da nail right on da head.

How can an artistic interpretation be wrong?

I think TDK is the best batman film BUT as great as Bale is, he just doesn't have that scary animalistic nature to him that Keaton had. I watched this film with keaton and brendan frazer, where keaton played some big time a-hole but he still looked as though he could still wear the coul comfortably. Anyway, that night I had a dream where is what keaton's batman goung up against Ledger's joker. I'm telling you, keep Nolan's vision of batman and gotham, story and villains but replace batman with Burton's/keaton's interpretation of batman......that would have been the sickest movie ever made.

Batman89, Begins and The Dark Knight are all tied for me!

I totally agree with that.

At last, someone aknowledges the fact there are just 4 live action Batman movies. (The rest are one TV spin off, one animated and two extended toy commercials) :woot:

I love the Nolan flix and the 40s serials. Weird combo, but so am I.

I hate Christian Bale as Batman. I gave him a second chance with TDK. Instead of improving, he got worse to me.

So Keaton is still my favorite. He got Batman the vigilante down to a T with his demeanor and voice.

The three best movies themselves, I rank as such:

The Mask of the Phantasm
Batman '89 (tied with) The Dark Knight

Even though I fully recognize that The Dark Knight and Batman Begins are much better movies, with stories that make sense, acted by superb actors, I grew up on Batman and Batman Returns and I could watch those a thousand times.

Live action Batmen

Bale & Keaton tied at No1
Kilmer
West
Clooney

And movies
The Dark Knight
Batman Begins
Batman Returns
Batman 89
Batman Forever
Batman And Robin

All time:

The Dark Knight
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
Batman Begins
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
Batman
Batman Returns
Batman and Mr Freeze: Sub Zero
Batman Forever
Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman
Batman & Robin
