Some of you American members might know the movie better as Silent Night, Evil Night or A Stranger In The House.

Finally, someone on here older than I am. Most of the posts I've seen on this thread have been for movies that came out while I was in high school.

Rocky in 1976.

And I only saw it after first seeing Rocky II, III, IV so when I rented it the first time I dozed off because I thought there was too much talking and hardly any boxing, when your 9 years old a kid likes action more than drama.

Airplane, Blues Brothers, Caddyshack, or Raging Bull.

1980

Although I love Batman, gotta go with Ghostbusters II.

The fact that you other 84's haven't mentioned the only movie worth mentioning from that year disappoints me.

I like disappointing you though. :cwink:

True, I would say this and The Terminator. Ghostbusters still defines me. I will say you caught me on this. So a tie between those two.

The Terminator is a great movie, but T2 surpasses it on all levels, and has tainted the original as being inferior. Ghostbusters still stands strong.

Yea I agree T2 surpasses it on every level, but it still is the beginning. And is still better then the third and forth so that's gotta count for something.

However Louis Tully is still my hero. He is the greatest ladies man of them all, his dancing skills puts all else to shame.

Damn dude, never would have guessed you were in your 40's. :wow:

I think he was referring to your claim of being the youngest on SHH, as Home Alone and Edward Scissorhands came out after you were born.

He was born in 1994 and those two came out in 1990. Just sayin'. :oldrazz:

Probably Evil Dead II, but Radio Days and Raising Arizona are up there too. 1987.

Ghost

1990. Honesty, there were a few great films that year, but Ghost is the closest movie I can consider as my favorite.

Good year. But I'd put Once Upon a Time in the West as my top 1968 IMO.

No film where Arnold Schwarzenegger says the words "I promise I will not kill anyone" will ever surpass The Terminator IMHO.

1. The Living Daylights (Dalton is my favorite Bond)

This would have been ****ing hard had I been born in either 1971 or 1975, but that's not the case. So I guess JFK.

1974 :

Emmanuelle ( not really a fav of mine but it was "the" film of the year )
The Man with the Golden gun
Phantom of the Paradise

Damn. Lot's of good movies came out in 1985:

The Breakfast Club
Back to the Future
The Goonies
Clue
Pee-Wee's Big Adventure
Fright Night
Weird Science
Teen Wolf
