I say the GCN, because I played the best game I have ever owned: Resident Evil 4.

The Wii seems to be going strong,i can imagine it will become the next generation`s favorite Nintendo console.

N64 is my favorite Nintendo system and my favorite system. Too bad it is underrated due to not as many games as PS1. I always said (that generation anyway) it was quantity vs. quality.

You got:

-Super Mario 64
-The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
-The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
-Goldeneye
-Perfect Dark
-Jet Force Gemeni
-Star Fox 64
-Diddy Kong Racing
-Super Mario Kart 64
-Super Smash Bros.
-Banjo Kazooi
-Konker's Bad Fur Day
-1080 Snowboarding
-Wave Race 64
-Mission: Impossible
-Shadows of the Empire
-Rogue Squadron
-Donkey Kong 64

And not to mention superior versions of The World is Not Enough, Resident Evil 2 and not to mention a just as good as version of Spider-Man of that generation.

And that is off the top of my head. It really was a masterful system that released the highest quality games for one system I've ever seen and that includes my favorite game of all time, OOT.

On PS1 I go back to play Metal Gear Solid: 1 (which a better version is out on Gamecube), Resident Evil 1 (like Gamecube again) and Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII. Making this list for N64, outside of Conker, Wave Race and Donkey Kong that entire list is instantly replayable for me.

I alos really liked SNES, but was a Sega Genesis "man" in that era and loved the NES as well (my sister and I's first console, for which we only had like 5 games but we played them infinetly). Gamecube was all right, but really disappointing (the games, not hte hardware or controller). Too early to say for Wii right now, but things are looking good.

Tie between N64, which really allowed me to appreciate games as works of art, and NES which brought me my love/obsession for gaming. So many sit down and play em all at once titles that were just plain fun. Anyway you slice it, games with such staying power that people still search for them now. Like mario, punch out, mario 3. Classic.

SNES + Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Megaman X, Super Mario Kart, Street Fighter games, Final Fantasy games = cool

and don't forget about Super Mario RPG :D

As much as I like the Wii, the SNES is still the best system they released.:woot:

How is that?By the way,how many games will the Wii be able to play? All of the Nintendo games ever?

N64. What other console has Goldeneye, Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask?

NES, the wii is the biggest rip off ever.

Actually the biggest rip off is Oxi Clean. That **** doesn't work at all.

I'll go with the NES since that's the only one I actually own. If it works is another thing.

But that's why I have Jnes, Zsnes, and Project 64 :woot:

Shockingly, I still own all my Nintendo systems EXCEPT the SNES. I'm still peeved cause I never got to experience Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart on SNES (I mainly played them with emulators). My favorite is definitely N64, followed closely by the NES.

SNES. It had good Nintendo games AND strong support from third parties

Since I didn't have any other game consoles after the original NES I prefer that one, the Super Mario games were hellz of fun.

SNES is the greatest system ever made with super metriod, legend of Zelda: Link to the past, Supermario World, Chrono Trigger, Secret Of Mana, and on and on .

SNES/N-64&GameCube are tied for me!

N64 for me.....

Super Mario 64
Ocarina of Time

I mean, games that are referenced to be the games to beat and the games that other games are trying to be.

You can't go wrong with N64

The Super Nintendo, followed by the Nintendo 64 and the NES

I agree with that list..However you forgot to mention a few wrestling titles!,I understand you may not be a wrestling fan at all But in general most wrestling N64 titles were highly successful that even to this day games like..

WWF:WrestleMania 2000
WCW World Tour
WCW/nWo:Revenge
WWF:No Mercy

Are played and considered as among the top greatest wrestling games in the world&history(No Mercy being N64's #1 wrestling game)

It would be interesting to judge consoles based on what new IPs were introduced on them.

The ones I voted for on the poll are the SNES, N64, and Gamecube.

-The height of my video game playing was on the Gamecube. I was young enough that I still played video games a lot (I still like them, but haven't played as much in the last 4 or 5 years), but old enough that I was good at the games (there are many NES/SNES games that I really sucked at, but liked anyway because it didn't bother me to die a lot as a kid). The Cube also had Super Smash Bros. Melee, which is probably my most-played and favorite game of all time. Plus, I can still play most Gamecube games, even the ones I'm playing for the first time now, without feeling like they're dated.

-The SNES is the most nostalgic for me, because it and the Genesis were my favorites as a kid, and it has several games I would rank among my all-time favorites. Nintendo was raising the bar with the complexity of its games, and the third-party support for Nintendo was at its best.

-When looking at the overall number of great games each system has, the Nintendo 64 might come out on top. Even though the third-party support wasn't as strong as in the SNES days, there were still many willing to develop for the cartridge system with the weird controller. The only drawback to the N64 is that I love fighting games, and its controller wasn't really conducive to playing them.

-The NES has some terrific games, but also a lot that feel very dated now.

-The Wii is a great, innovative system, but it doesn't have that many games I love; only a couple per year. Nintendo was a rousing success on its goal of expanding the video game audience, but the games that did this weren't always the ones that interested me as a long-time game fan. I also think third-party developers had a hard time designing games for the Wii, though there are a few really good ones.

-The handhelds are all great, and better than their respective competitors, but I was never into them as much as the consoles. I still own all the ones from Game Boy to DS; I just don't have as many games for them.

SNES was probably my favorite because it was the first one I ever bought on my own. But NES will always be up there.
