I'd say the N64 controller would have been fine if the C buttons were replaced by normal-sized buttons. The funny thing is I don't remember a lot of games making use of the C buttons as camera buttons, and instead used them for gameplay-related actions

GameCube was fan-frickin'-tastic. Only reason I have stopped playing it is I don't have room for it with all the other console's. but I played it through 09 hardcore. Seeing this thread will probably lead me to bust it back out very soon.

NES, SNES, & N64

those 3 along with the Sega Genesis were a HUGE part of my childhood. i'm happy to say that i still have all those systems and they work very well :yay:

I'd have to say the SNES, followed closely by the N64.

I'd like to say wii cos mario galaxy 1 & 2 are fantastic as is sonic colours and donkey kong country returns.
But yoshis island is ninendos finest hour for me. Love love love it!!!!
Is yoshis island snes version on the wii virtual console?

The Super Nintendo's library is just astounding to this very day. The amount of games and the quality of the games stands the test of time.

For me definitely the NES and N64...couldn't pick both unfortunately.

It's a threeway tie for me between SNES, N64 and Gamecube. Some of the best gaming I've ever had was on those systems. The Gamecube especially was a big deal for me because it's the first time I started to notice graphics. I got addicted to Smash Bros and literally played it to 100% completion. The Wii just didn't get me like those old systems did. Here's hoping Nintendo rectifies that with the WiiU

N64. SNES as a close second. SNES had Donkey Kong Country, Mega Man X and Super Mario World. But SNES didn't have Ocarina of Time and Goldeneye. The latter alone puts N64 on top.

SNES did have a lot of classics, thats for sure. N64 didn't have as many (and the Gamecube had even less), but what games they did have were such quality!

Let's see the best N64 games, in no particular order (except the first).

Pokémon Snap. Just kidding, but really:

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Mario 64
Goldeneye 007
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
Perfect Dark (very under-appreciated game)
Star Fox 64
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Donkey Kong 64
Mario Kart 64
Diddy Kong Racing

I agree with that list, but I'd add Banjo-Kazooie, Star Wars Pod-Racer and Yoshi Story. Paper Mario was a lot of fun too. I also went nuts with Clayfighter 63 1/3. Sooo many memories.

Ah those were good games. I never got to play Paper Mario. Shame really.

The console did lack fighting games and RPGs. It's kind of funny to think that Nintendo had the best FPS at the time. Especially given its image now.

No Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, etc. Actually, on second thought, I'd tie the two consoles, really. Now that you've got me thinking of all these old games.

SNES would be...

Super Mario World
Mega Man X
Mortal Kombat
Street Fighter II
Donkey Kong Country
Star Fox
Earthworm Jim
The Legend of Zelda-

You know, on third thought maybe SNES is my favorite console.

Super Mario All-Stars was cool because you could play updated versions of the classics. I played the **** outta all the Donkey Kong games, as well as the games you listed. N64 though was were I really went nuts with gaming. It had Smash Bros and no game series has made me happier than Smash Bros.

Goldeneye would be my Smash Bros. I know the rooms in the missions of Goldeneye better than the rooms in my own house.

I could beat anyone of my friends with any character in Smash Bros. I truly had that game beaten 100%. Every challenge, every event. I used every character to beat the game on the hardest difficulty.

Nintento 64 by far, so many amazing memories with that console.

Hell, I basically gave up all interest in my baseball team when the first Super Smash Bros. came out.

You really should have specified the handhelds instead of lumping them all together as one

Anyways I voted for the SNES. Havent cared for a single Nintendo home console since

People make fun of me for being a young lady who loves her Super NES. I still have all my old games since I was a kid. I got the system when it first came out. I was in 2nd grade and I still love it. I own...

Super Mario World
Donkey Kong Country
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Super Metroid
Super Catlevania IV
Contra III: The Alien Wars
Chrono Trigger
Animaniacs
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time
Batman Returns
Spider-Man: The Animated Series
Wild C.A.T.S.
Super Mario Kart
Actraiser
Star Fox
Yoshi's Island
Street FighterII: Turbo
Killer Instinct
Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat II
Mortal Kombat III
X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse

And love them all...except Wild C.A.T.S. is a very odd game.

My most fond memories I have in my videogame experience come from the SNES. That machine was a thing of beauty for me. My favorite games were the Donkey Kong Country series, and I used to play them a lot. I never came to appreciate it until after I sold it. It was a huge mistake, I planned to buy a N64 and my parents didn't allow me to have two consoles. I regret it. But someday I'm gonna buy another. I still have my SNES cartdriges. And I will be happy again XD

I've really enjoyed, and have owned, every single one. But I have to say, I think it's a tie with NES and SNES.

I'd definitely go with the Nintendo 64. All of my best Nintendo memories were on the N64.

Like the Wii and SNES most.

Super Mario World is an all time classic game, but today Legend of Zelda is more interesting to me, (doesn't matter what part )

My favorite console is the Nintendo Gamecube. There are a ton of great games for that system, but my favorites are Zelda: Wind Waker, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Super Mario Sunshine, Aventyl Online and Resident Evil 4. Plus, it looked badass in black.

The Gamecube was really awesome. Between Wario World and Smash Bros I never stopped playing. I also enjoyed The Simpsons Road Rage a ton. I kinda wish I hadn't have gotten rid of all my Gamecube games, because I'd still play the holy hell out of them.
