Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child's stuff. Imagine Michael Crichton with more horror (they're not in order, btw):

Cabinet of Curiosities
Brimstone
Book of the Dead

And a couple more I can't remember right now. Not really a series, but a bunch of interconnected stories. Margo Green, Police Lt. Vincent D'Agosta, and FBI Special Agent Pendergast are all characters that show up throughout.

They also have a couple of more books:
Thunderhead
Riptide
Utopia (Lincoln Child by himself)

that seem to be in the same universe, though they don't have any of their standard characters.

Great books, fast reads, and incorporate a bunch of genres from monster thriller (The Relic) to murder mystery (Cabinet of Curiosities) to genuine science fiction (Utopia). They're all connected though.

Go read them.

Abarat, Clives childrens, book a triology (piggyback off of Harry Potter)neglcting Book of the Art to focus on it, but what ever.

Dragonlance books are the fantasy books I am currently reading. The legend series.

Dragonlance series is my favorite in fantasy genre. I was totally sold after I read Dragons of Autumn Twilight at age 12 and Raistlin... one of the most amazing characters ever!
