I've been rereading the cheysuli books and the sword dancer/singer/maker books.... all worth checking out also...I forget the authors though

You need to read "Andromeda Strain" and "The Terminal Man"....some of his old stuff that people forget about now.

There's all the obvious such as Dragonlance, Hitchhiker's, etc.... one of my all time favorites though has got to be Myth series by Aspirin... I'm really starting this thread for new books I haven't read yet :)

Not an old one, but also forgotten: Sphere. It's probably his most SciFi-oriented book, as opposed to his usual techno-thrillers.

Good stuff indeed, talking of Golden Oldies, Stapletons Odd John and Wylies Gladiator and When Worlds Collide are fun for Comic fans.

Aaron Alston's "Wraith Squadron" series is very good. (it's SW related stuff).

also the series with Honor Harrington starting with On Basilisk Station is excellent military s-f.
