Favourite memorable days/occasions

Going to the Grand Canyon, having a cross country drive with friends is memorable. Getting kicked in the chest for money? Not so much.

Can you stay on topic or just not post? This is a thread about sharing stories that the individual finds memorable, not about giving your personal and unrequested rating of someone else's memories...

If you don't like it or disagree, PM me. If not, stop wasting time. Please, I don't want to sound angsty, but it was never any of your concern and you're talking about it far too much. I don't actually care what you think of my past/memories/events/friends, but if you have something you'd like to share do so.

So far, it was everyday I was with the girl of my dreams, and everyday I think about it.

It's like Louis CK's bit on the uses of words like amazing, genius, etc.

"You know that piece of buffalo chicken was amazing."

Amazing is seeing a ghost, sking down a dangerous slope or see like someone craft an intricate design into rock or ice. But you know what's just like that? Eating a chicken wing.

And anyway, what you're learning here is a lesson in perspective. Just because you think a chicken wing is "JUST a chicken wing" doesn't mean that's all it is or all it is to someone else.

To your analogy I offer another..

A cloud is a visible body of very fine water droplets or ice particles suspended in the atmosphere at altitudes ranging up to several miles above sea level.

To an artist: A cloud could represent the feelings of God or lost souls waiting just above our heads for another to join them. It could be flight or freedom...

To a writer: Clouds could be the fluffy materialization of dreams and adventure. It could be the waves and tides of the air...

To a soldier: The sign that a storm is approaching and at last he and his men have cover.

To an office worker: Yet another sign of the day-by-day monotony and conformity that he or she has to put up with everyday.

To a sailor or fisherman: Either a storm is approaching, it will be a calm day, or maybe they should turn around.

To a scientist: A visible body of very fine water droplets or ice particles suspended in the atmosphere at altitudes ranging up to several miles above sea level.

And yet, they're all right. Don't judge things so much by your own perspective, allow others to think in their own way.

My mistake I didn't know it was over, I thought you meant you still were together...I wouldn't have asked if ....nevermind

Backpacking through Ireland, but the most breathtaking experience had to be while I was on one of the Aran Islands (Inishmore) I visited Dún Aengus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dún_Aengus I was taking my chances since the wind was strong that day and I got really close to the edge of the cliff to take a picture, I was the only one there that day. If things went bad, well that would've been the end of me. I miss Ireland, best trip ever.

Second most awesome day was my first trip to Niagara Falls, I always thought it was some cliched, crappy place for honeymooners until I saw a PBS doc on it. I'm a total granola head sometimes, I was overtaken by the beauty and power of the falls, that's right I shed a tear or two. Wanna make something of it?! :cmad: I've been back to the falls once and I'll return again I'm sure.

Responding to your posts is staying on topic. You may not like what I have to say, but that post wasn't steering this thread off topic.

I have a few that I can remember.

Senior year high school, I played defensive end had 2 sacks in the final minute of a big game.

December 2007, met some friends and saw the prologue, afterwards when everyone left the NY IMAX, Jonah Nolan came the down stairs. We talked to him for few minutes, he seemed a bit surprised that we knew who he was, he signed our Gotham Times and took a picture.

7-18-2008. Midnight. :brucebat:

Most memorable?

August 6th 2003, It was my 15th birthday, and just like every other time my family gets together a fight broke out, this time between me and my brother (Jay, he's five years older and thinks he is a Rasta), to cut a long story short I tried to storm off to my room, he tried to follow me up the stairs, I kicked a paint bucket down the stairs (we were having the hallway decorated) yeah it ruined the carpet, but even better it ruined his hair, he had to have his dreadlocks cut off ... he also didn't speak to me for about a year afterwards, but it was worth it. :o

Edit- I know that sounds a bit lame, But I'm only 20, so no kids yet, I hate college and losing my virginity was just plain awkward.

There was that one summer day back in NY my wife and I went swimming at this creek by a road. It was a fairly rural place so there was no traffic, we just parked the car by the side of the road and jumped in nekkid.

Anyways, one thing led to another and we were "playing the piano" on the creek bed when this whole fleet of bikers drove by.

Needless to say we got some cheers but we kept goin.

:D

was that tmi?

So aside from telling me which one of my memories is memorable, you're now going to tell me the direction of my thread? Sorry, as I said the thread is not about telling anyone which memorable events don't count and wasting every post you made on ragging on said memory. Which is what you've done so far.

Having yet to share a personal story. Please refrain from posting in the thread.

So I shouldn't post in your thread?

CRIPPLE FIGHT!

Unless you've got a -personal- story from your life to share. Like everyone else so far....Haven't you noticed you're the only one "reviewing" people's posts?

Ugfugly, it's only a misunderstanding...you can make fun of me if you want to but don't make fun of Erz...

Well it's not getting kicked in the chest, but I think a memorable time would have been went I went with one of my best friends to watch all 3 Star Wars movies in the theater before the prequels and special editions.

I mean maybe it would been cooler if I got $30 that day, but it was the first time I saw A New Hope and Empire on the big screen.

*kicks in chest*

Can I give you guys a rain check on what my Greatest Day I Ever Knew is because I haven't experienced that yet.

Everyone is forgetting the day they realised they could get free streaming internet porn.

Yes Godzilla, and while you may be confused by Erz, the topic post also explains that you could simply mention a memorable day.

Oh lord Zilla, Lighten the **** up

Jeez, why don't you spend some time in some remote messed up places in the world and realise you are luckier than 99% of all living creatures.

Really honestly, stop moping around and get on with it. You know how many people would sell thier souls to be where you are right now?

ugh.

you should probably get a mod to alter your thread title to just cover 'favourite memorable days/occasions'

The day my daughter was born.
