FEAR as the Theme of the Movie!

I found it interesting that Martin Campbell and the writers used fear and over-powering fear as the theme of the film. But I also couldn't help but be reminded of "Batman Begins." And that really ruined my enjoyment of the picture. "Batman Begins" did such a better job with that theme that "Green Lantern" looks really bad by comparison. What do you guys think?

IMO Batman Begins overdid the fear theme, it was one of the few things I disliked about the movie.

Huh? BB may have overdid it with too much Katie Holmes, but the theme of fear? I thought it was perfect.

That may be a reference to the boards overall. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are like Gods in these forums. And Nolan is THE God. Well, at least right now...years ago it was Sam Raimi. And then before that it was Bryan Singer.

Yeah, the way they deal with fear in this one pales in comparison to what Batman Begins did with it. It was the thematic crux of the whole movie, while here it comes off as window dressing.
