Yeah. Same here.
Parks, King and X(?) got people motivated and inspired to fight for civil rights. What did Frank inspire anybody to do? By the time her diary was discovered, the Holocaust was over.
You've heard of the "Freedom Writers"?????
Millions of students have been inspired by her story over the years....
I wish I could say that since the Holocaust there has not been genocide on our watch, but unfortunately that is not the case....but I would hope that her story, and the countless others like Corrie Ten Boom, and others do have an impact on those that have read about their lives.
I've never met Lenora Whitacker Wood, and no one here has ever heard of her, nor did she inspire millions of people, but her story inspired me to become a teacher, and has inspired 100's of others to do the same. The number inspired is not the goal in my opinion nor is it the strength of the story, it is the act of helping someone else with a cost that is the true strength of the story.
Who would of thought a thread about Anne Frank would talk about Kevin Smith's humor.![]()
