yeah, but this movie aint exactly Oreos...
LOL!
The whole film seemed rushed I felt nothing when Silver Fox...or whoever she was supposedly "died" and then Wolverine screams....that was awkward because it just was so quick. Watch the first Superman film. When Reeves screams at the end when Lois is dead that RAW emotion right there and it hits you deep.
It was more like an episode or Pilot style film for a TV series just with some extravagant effects that again weren't needed in some scenes..the guns landing on the clips...wtf??
I swear Wade Wilson was in it for like 3 min scream time possibly 5. But those 5 mins were great so storing those.
The hobbit was not needed, should have left him out could have used that time for more character development on some of the other characters.
Any scene with Sabretooth/Victor was the best bit of the film, he by far was the best thing about this film, so about 15 mins stored of his scenes.
Wolverine... what is he some cuddly toy now? The only bit where I actually think he was wolverine is when he is talking to Stryker after he wakes up and Stryker offers him the deal, and he's all pent up and raged, THAT was Wolverine. The Shot of him waking up screaming was ridiculous! Why was it there? Yea what he has nightmares...forget it. O wait the other Wolverine scenes I enjoyed are when he's with "Martha and Jonathan Kent" and he gets gifted the bike and jacket etc... so about 7 mins of his scenes are good.
Ok finally Gambit. For me a fan of Gambit, I'm not a fan of Wolverine or deadpool or Stryker or them other characters, even though I can appreciate them and have seen them in various incarnations over say a 15+ year span I don't really count myself as a fan of those characters but I do have an understanding. BUT Gambit! I am a fan! Now you guys can come at me and say whatever you want, "I'm being too harsh", "I'm this or that" But as a fan I think I have a right. They took the piss! That's the truth. I'm not a fan of Deadpool, but they did more than take the piss out of him and I feel real bad for those fans.
Gambit to me felt like they got a pretty boy, let him twirl a staff gave him some cards, which they ended CGI-ing which they could have saved money and actually done some real effects, trust me on this one, when I say I am a fan I know how to handle cards. But yea ok he wasn't bad, but I didn't feel he was Gambit. Projecting cards from his palm like Jean grey was controlling them...., is it too hard to film him throw them? Poor sound effects aswell. The staff fighting was ok. Then the dialogue...meh.
All the other characters.. Not needed. I had no interest in them they had no essence on screen they didn't captivate you or keep you interested, Stryker was the dullest thing ever.
Lastly, I think they failed when they went for the low rating.
The Adamantium bonding should have been painful, it should have been bloody, and a heck of a lot more traumatising than a couple of needles in him. I'm not even a Wolverine fan and I could have written a better Adamantium Bonding scene.
But like I said Victor was the best thing about this film, when he was on screen the film shined, anything without him... meh!
I call this film "Victor Creed!" Because at least they got something right.
