Final Version vs. Workprint - Official Discussion

That's FOX for ya.

And the adamantium bullet thing is only one of the many stupid ones in this film....so, looking at it like that, we shouldn't question it.

Otherwise, they'd have to actually use thought and come up with a really good way for Logan to lose his memories.

But alas, Logans' amnesia about the whole Weapon X thing isn't THAT important to use up so much energy on.

Right?

I have'nt seen the final version yet,but it seems like it was Fox's attempt to change a few things after the leak was announced. I guess it was to say to the public hey,u did'nt see the real version unless u see it at the theatres..sad I think.

I still might see it just to see 'Fox's attempt to alter it to say the leak was'nt finished besides the graphics...
Did they still have that stupid scene with Logan/girlfriend and that story about the name Wolverine? That was so terrible in the unfinished movie I hope they changed it.

That is true now that you mention it. It only adds to the idea that Logan kidna "breezed" through the bonding procedure more easily than he should have or was implied in X1, yes.

I agree I'm not sure what they were thinking when doing this scene? I guess they were'nt thinking about this issue when doing the movie. I guess they figured this movie is a stand-alone movie and should'nt need to show any continuity...????

Didn't Hugh Jackmans character in The Prestige name himself after something his GF said after she died also. This is becoming a running theme for Hugh Jackman

No baby Storm in work print, no baby Storm in final print.
Baby Storm in trailer, WTF?

Wasn't paying enough attention to notice any real differences. Though, I did think I heard some redubbing and changed lines, I thought that was probably down to my faulty memory, although other posts in this thread seem to reinforce this theory.

Meh, it was probably a little worse in the cinema, though I blame this on the fact I was bored stiffless, as a predictable film had been made all the more predictable (my own fault, whatever, I did redeem myself by paying to see it you know). Not really one for repeat viewings this. I prefered the lack of CG for the most part really. Gah, can't get my head around Sensei Xavier...

While the new score didn't save it, it was an adaquete job and fitted the film pretty well. It doesn't change my perception of the film but it probably balances things out

So overall, workprint= finished version

I hate it because there is NO REASON why a Wolverine movie cant be one of the great films from our chosen medium. It's a dumb popcorn flick that is only slghtly better in the CGI department and casting than Street Fighter or Dragonball. That is inexcusable after all the great superhero films we've seen.

I can accept Ghost Rider being bad...but Wolverine??? No. I cant accept this plot hole ridden, common sense destroying piece of garbage.

My thoughts exactly.

Yes there is. (If you're talking about the Easter Egg thingy after the credits that is). It's been confirmed and posted online in bootleg form.

And you're calling that the real Deadpool? It was the decapitated head of Weapon XI. Hardly his comic counterpart (aside from the 4th wall bit). LOL :hehe: :woot:

It didn't even feel like a fourth wall bit. It felt like Weapon XI reawoke and was emitting a strange sound.

what I really wanted this final version to explain was how he got on the rooftop, a couple of seconds of Gambit sneaking out of there and climbing the freaking building would have been enough. It just felt like bad editing

you mean they didn't fix that!!! oh boy this movie sucks!!!!

that was one of my gripes about the workprint. the editing was not smooth. it was very choppy and there just was not sense of continuity. so i was hoping that it would be fixed in the final version.

in the workprint i agree. logan elbows gambit in the head and he falls down. then all the sudden he is on-top of a building running. poor editing.

and they dub his voice in the final version. oh man. his voice was fine inthe workprint.

also in the workprint. logan walks out of the laboratory after learning the truth. he hears a scream. then he is all the sudden back in the laboratory with a tanktop but he is all the way on the other side of the room. again in the workprint it was just bad editing.

i hope to god they fixed this.

also in the workprint the logan/victor battles that happen in the alleyway and in the lab seem sped up. and they just look alittle cheesy. sped up like that. did they fix that?

in the trailers they looked really badass. but it seems like they just screwed up.

well. if this film flops maybe marvel can acquire the rights to do a REAL reboot.

it seems like MARVEL is trying to get something going. they've done Iron Man, Hulk. they're gonna do THOR & captain america.
maybe they can tie in a Blade reboot and get the rights back to X-Men and do a reboot and have it happen all in the same continuity.

now that would be something!

i mean i liked x1. even thouhgh the fx in x1 were lackluster in certain places. overall it was a great film with alot of heart. x2 was great as well. i still don't understand the dislike of x3. x3 really brought the saga of the characters to an end. i loved it.

but this movie seems like it just was a horrible movie. and a slap in the face to wolverine fans.

Oh and that tank top thing is in the final version.

I don't agree with it, just pointing out how unsolvable that rooftop mystery is. I didn't know he was the Flash.

I don't remember baby storm in the trailer either...been awhile since I watched it though.

looks like the plane from when they are on the mission.
Perhaps, perhaps not. My first impression and probably the one intended was that it was the X-jet. :)

The fact they thought about including the X-jet and Storm in the film also shows FOX's mentality. They, like many prequels, felt the need to include as much as possible, rather than only include elements best for the story. The prequels for Star Wars did this too. Get crazy with the cameos and needless explanations in dialogue for the heck of it, and water down the primary story. Why exactly did we need Cyclops? Optic blasts are not even one of Deadpool's powers. Why did we need him or Charles at all? Including them only makes you force them in, and weaken the story. Gambit could have got the kids off the island, Deadpool could have had no optic blast, Emma could have got them out of the prison without Cyclops. Why do we need them? For the sake of having them.

That's not good storytelling.
