Find the New Avenger word search

This was in the back of Avenger's Academy this week. Ive circled some. I also found something that could be interesting, but probably is coincidence.

I don't think "kimota" is a coincidence. Also, Deadpool is joining X-Force, according to previews. Not that that's stopped them before. Given his role in the current arc in "New Avengers", I wouldn't be surprised if Bendis threw Hellstorm on the team.

I could see it being Iceman, bc he jokingly asked if the Avengers were hiring. Considering he hasnt shown up in upcoming promo/preview art and it doesnt seem the X-line has any immediate plans for him, I can see him going over.

Do we know for a fact though that it's one of the characters that we find in the search? Sometimes these things do it so that the name is spelled using letters that are connected by two names, or using letters that aren't circled after every name is found.

I dont see why it wouldnt be in the search. Why put this out there as a promo piece for the unveiling of the new member if not to have it be one of the choices included? Guess we'll awit and see

But, yeah, Colossus needs to branch out. As much as Iceman could also use it, he got to be a Champion and a Defender. Sure, that was back in the 70's and 80's, but it was something. Colossus' only taste of it outside the X-Ghetto was two issues of THE LAST DEFENDERS. He's a good level tanker, not arrogant, trained, and is immune to gas/suffocation as well as resistant to black magic (not immune, just resistant). He can always just attache a webcam to wherever Kitty is hanging in ghost form when he has to head out. He's been moping or dead for at least 15 years, and I don't think he'll ever grow further in the X-Men.

Given that Bendis is writing two books and SECRET WARRIORS is ending soon, even money's on Quake. Although Molly is possible; Marvel has decided she's the break-out star of RUNAWAYS.

I don't mind if it was Iceman, he's my second favorite X-Man, my first being Cyclops. I kinda want to see him more in the spotlight. I think Deadpool shouldn't even be on the list, he's a little over exposed for me (but that doesn't mean I don't like him).

But if I had to pick, from that list. It's a tie for me between Taskmaster and Quake. I may be the only one that likes those characters enough to want to see them on an Avenger team.

I think it's been said at some point in an interview that Deadpool was going to join the Secret Avengers, but only in his own book for a limited time. Basically, the same way he joined the X-Men in his book for 3 issues before leaving, never to be referenced in the X-Men books themselves.

I could see it being Miracle Man (Atomik), though I'd rather it not be. Molly Hayse joining the Academy would be interesting and Iceman's would be my pick. I'd LOVE to see Iceman as an Avenger.

She popped up in a few issues of NEW AVENGERS. Bendis created her in SECRET WAR and it would be a no-brainer to have her join up, much as Jessica Jones has become an unofficial associate due to her relationship with Luke Cage.

I hadn't realized who Marvelman was. I suppose it is possible since Marvel just bothered to get his license WITHOUT acquiring the legendary Alan Moore run that everyone cares about. I suppose adding him into the Marvel Universe proper could be attempted, and there would be no better place than one of the Avengers books that Bendis writes, at least in terms of exposure and sales. Sure, he'd just be another Sentry, but it isn't as if repetition was something Bendis was afraid of. If anything, he's staked his career on it.

Considering Beast left for the Avengers, in theory Iceman could make sense as he was a founding X-Man with Beast, and Iceman has left for other teams before. He & Angel founded the Champions, and he, Angel, and Beast organized the last major squad of DEFENDERS in the 1980's. While I'd prefer him in a Brubaker, Gage, or Van Lente title, Bendis does write Iceman in ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN, so one of his titles isn't out of the equation.

I do think Colossus would make good sense for SECRET AVENGERS (away from Bendis). I don't think Nova will be on the team forever, and without him, Valkyrie and War Machine would count as the "tankers" of the team. Colossus would fit the mold of a functional team player who usually follows orders and doesn't bring ego or rebelliousness to a mission. Immunity to gas attacks and magic aren't bad details for a Class 85-100 hero, assuming Brubaker remembers them (many writers don't). The only downer is Brubaker's never written him before, and he has little experience outside of the X-Men (two issues of THE LAST DEFENDERS, which was basically one Defenders mission; Professor X, Havok, and Polaris were technically Defenders for that length of time, too). On the upside, that one mission was against the Sons Of The Serpent, who Steve Rogers has dealt with on occasion.

During Whedon's ASTONISHING X-MEN run, he did revive Colossus and Colossus was involved in the final climax on Breakworld. But aside for that, Whedon did admit finding it difficult to write Piotr as a character beyond "Kitty's boyfriend". I recall one interview in WIZARD where he admitted Colossus was the one X-Man he struggled to write. Plus, well, the only fight where he didn't look like a puss was against Ord, but Ord was a guy who was beaten by Lockheed, which lowered his threat meter WAY down. That's like beating an alien who lost to Tippy Toe (Squirrel Girl's pet squirrel). Even if you beat the guy down while spouting an awesome line like, "Not steel. Rage...I...am made...of RAGE!", he's still beating a guy that ran SCREAMING from the TEAM MASCOT. Colossus, sadly, has had the least power moments of any team tanker I've ever seen, which really sucks because he's pretty damned cool when he's on.

I'd be rather saddened if it would turn out to be Marvelman. He is the most probable though.

Seems odd that Marvel just released Marvelman and had no further plans for him. I mean, it's an odd character to JUST put out there.

BTW, it's Kimota, not Atomik. Saying Kimota is akin to Capt. Marvel saying SHAZAM! (Yeah, I bought the issue, didn't research it much beforehand).
