It was a good episode this week. The fact that they got out of the bank two-thirds of the way through the episode and then had to solve the mystery of Ian Khan's (I forget his character's name) involvement meant that they kept it interesting and the pace never slowed down.

It would've been good though if Beckett and her team were the ones taking him down at the end instead of just waiting to hear about it on the phone. That was the one part that was a slight let down. It's as if Castle or Beckett didn't get the chance to face off against him after he had fooled them both with his epileptic fit.

On the other hand, it would have been impossible/illogical for them to have been present when the other cops caught him (it would have taken too long for them to travel there, not to mention it's not their jurisdiction) or if the show had the wife be hiding in New York (she would have to be a complete idiot to stay in the same city as her husband).

But they could've had it that neither her nor her husband were from New York originally, and that he had travelled there to find her. He knew she was hiding there somewhere but didn't know the exact address, which is why he needed the safety deposit box to access her details. That way Castle and Beckett could've been in on the action and it wouldn't have been impossible or illogical.

Then, they wouldn't have encountered the wife's mother's body since she would have needed to sever all ties with her previous life - meaning, she and her mother wouldn't be living in the same city. Consequently, the safety deposit box would not have been in New York.

I think this weeks was one of the best episodes ever, just brilliant on all levels.

Well although there were some fun moments in this week's Castle, I didn't think it was actually as good as some other episodes. First of all, there was a lack of Castle working with Beckett, and second the plot seemed fairly simplistic. The way it was resolved was a bit anti climactic and lacking some of the twists or eureka moments that other episodes have when Castle and Beckett figure out who the murderer is.

^^^ Agreed, a fun ep but not amongst the best, I did enjoy seeing Castle, Ryan and Esposito Elvis swaggering through the casino though.

I think one of the main issues was the fact they never really built up any image that Sam was a violent guy, so suddenly his wife's motive felt out of the blue in the straight forward ending, plus I expected more of a scene between Castle and Alexis when he got home.

No ep next week but the one in two weeks time looks like it has the potential to be a classic.

Surprised there are no comments on this weeks ep, I thought it was great, good story, strong development for Beckett and I really loved how Esposito's knowledge was used and how he was the one that got Kate through while Castle unexpectedly took an emotional backseat and focused on the message aspect of the killers M.O.

No Castle next week but the synopsis for the ep the week after sounds amazing.

Castle and Beckett have disappeared, leaving the rest of the detectives searching for them. Elsewhere, Castle and Beckett find themselves handcuffed together in bed in a locked room but have no idea how they got there.

Yeah this week's episode was pretty good, and Kate had some issues still to deal with. It's funny to see Worf as the counsellor, since he often needed counselling in ST:TNG.

I wonder how many women so readily pull down their top to show men their cleavage?

Finally got caught up w/ this season. Really enjoying it so far. lol, yeah Worf as the counselor is pretty funny and Captain Sisko's old lady as the new Chief is interesting too.

Castle taking a backseat was strage to me when i saw tjhe episode.... but it was pointed out to me that he didn't really step back. He realised he couldn't help Beckett... so sent the one person he knew that could help, ex-military Esposito, while he stepped back a bit.....

that being said the whole drunk scene with the cut arm was strangely ignored at the end of the episode....

Cuffed.... partially filmed on a closed set, which is highly intriguing to me... and written by a husband & wife writing team, who acted out parts of the scene themselves

I didn't quite get that scene. How exactly did she cut her arm? Was she just imagining (or reliving) someone attacking her while in her apartment?

she was drunk and having flashbacks to the funeral and other stressful evens... she slid through broken glass on her floor and cut her arm that way IIRC

She definitely cut her arm for real as the blood was coming through the bandage the next day when she was sitting at her desk.

It was a pretty good episode and Stana looks gorgeous no matter what drunken state she is in. Great episode.

Good Caskett-centric episode, I like the way we learned along with Castle and Beckett the various twists, it was a really well paced ep.

It's very disappointing that there is no new ep until next year, I mean this is a show tailor made for a Christmas ep.

Seems like the activity in this thread has been declining lately....

In any case, I would've missed this week's ep if not for SHH, since ABC did absolutely no advertising for the episode. What the hell is wrong with ABC, are they actively trying to sink one of their best TV series?

This show is always consistently great, latest episode included. How do the writers pull it off? The key metaphors in the episode were done really well too - the canoeing reference and the breaking down of the wall. Really liked the Castle/Beckett banter and the development of their relationship, and how Ryan/Esposito came to save them too. Ryan had one of the funniest lines IMO near the end with the "Oh god it ate them".

Annoyed by no new episodes until next year, need to get my Castle fix every week!

have to admit i wasn't quite expecting what we got.... the hints made about the epi seem like something else.

But it thought the entire episode was great. I liked the fact we got to see Ryan & Esposito running a case without castle & beckett. The Banter was great (i lol'd at the pretty one glance near the end between Ryan & Esposito) and i wasn't expecting a freaking tiger to appear (guess that must have been why they did some filming on a closed set)

Shame we now have to wait till next year
