Firefly's Fillion Moves into Castle

The 3X killer got away, but I am absolutely positive that he'll be back. It didn't happen as was speculated, but I think he (the 3X killer) will be putting Castle's family in jeopardy sometime soon. I am laying bets now that it will be a finale event.

it was.... very tense as well....

Got a bit worried about Ryan there for a minute.... and Beckett's comment to Castle when she got to the motel will be jumped on by the shippers...

i get the feeling this isn't the last we hear of this...

I have an even further "feeling" that he will evolve into some kind of nemesis for Rick Castle. He (3X killer) was setup to be at least as smart as Castle was. You don't set someone up like that, AND let him disappear for a two-bit appearance. 3X killer stated that he's used to changing faces, so there's a great setup for a recognizable face for a guest turn as the 3XK.

Brilliant episode, one of the best in the shows history. I agree with what you guys are saying, Castle just got himself a nemesis and Alexis will be the target I reckon.

@ Dr Lee, The shippers?

the whole... i'm so glad you're okay line.... i know a few people that will have gone loopy over that and the hand holding at the end...

... and i don't think it will be Alexis... Martha seems more likely...

But technically Alexis is closer to the mommy surrogates he's been using. They're usually fairly young women because he lost his mom at an early age.

I think Gina is going to be the one 3XK targets and ultimately kills. On one hand, he can't kill Alexis or Martha. It changes the show's dynamic too much. If he doesn't kill, he's not really a threat and the emotional impact on Castle is gone. I think Gina is the perfect middle ground. Plus, if you kill Gina as opposed to simply having Castle leave her, you add another roadblock to Castle/Becket (time for Castle to mourn, come to terms with it, etc), keeping the will they/won't they dynamic alive longer.

Excellent. She fits the profile for 3XK's victims best of all, too. Blonde and everything.

Good points. :yay:

As far as this show, I love how they can show smart/cunning moments without really having to dumb it down for the audience. Meaning: They trust that their audience is smart enough to keep up, and they have good ratings because we're glad (well, I certainly am) for a grown-up show that treats its audiences like adults without taking itself too seriously.

I have fallen completely inlove with this show, having gone from a casual viewer to a religious viewer. It is the best procederual on TV (and one of the best shows in general).

Indeed Matt. I was genuinley dissapointed with the ending last night, mainly cause he wasnt caught, it was just odd for Castle to have a downer ending. This was alos a hilarious episode too with the "HANDS ON YOUR HEAD AND GET ON YOUR KNEES WHILE YOUR AT IT!" line that just busted my gut.

Yeah, I went from a casual viewer to a relgious one as well. I think the chemistry between Beckett and Castle is probably the biggest reason why. The 'they're friends that should be more' dynamic works for me, and everyone around them seems to see it too...I dunno, the way it's all set up work great. The comedy that can go to serious without seeming forced is impressive to me, too. You can go from a really funny scene and 15 minutes later it can be serious...and it doesn't seem out of place at all.

The ending made sense too, which I loved. The 3X Killer only kills women, so the sparing of lives there made a ton of sense.

And yes, nicely setup for a return.

Another great episode this week, definitely my favourite show right now. I've never seen a procedural balance great cases with great characters, warmth and humour as well as Castle does.

Damn. Another perfect episode. Even that touching scene at the end with the reuniting of son and father with music could've gone off hokey or overdone. Somehow, this show manages to make it work. Oh, and love the comments about picture enhancement: "This isn't 24."

I enjoy Castle's interactions with Alexis and Martha. It shows that he has a life outside helping the police force.

It is nice when they acknowledge that the technique we see on a lot of movies and tv shows doesn't always work.

Loved last nights episode! What a little twist in the Murder plot, it was like two episodes for one@

Another superb episode, this season has just been hitting it out of the park. I especially liked the writing this week as they removed the back and forth banter from Castle and Beckett's scenes once they found out about the boy, it was a subtle but smart touch that put across why both are so likable.

I love how Castle had such a strong insight into this case because he was a father, the fact that it was made mention of just gave this the emotional pull that it needed. Just a amazingly scripted moment between Castle and Beckett when he mentions that the kid isnt that far off from Alexas' age.

Monday's episode was awesome, really liked the plot (I always like how the writers really take advantage of the setting in NYC - and in this episode, the subway) and how they tied in Castle's relationship with his daughter. That girl is kinda cute too, she's definitely growing on me. (Is she 18?) :p

Castle's complaint at the pixelation of the "enhanced" image was just gold btw. For once it's admitted in a TV show that images can't be enhanced! Now if only the same thing could be done in a movie so we can do away with this myth. :)

i don't think so.....

I seriously love this show.

This and NCIS are my absolute favorite shows by far.

LOVED the Firefly reference on this week's episode and literally roared with laughter at the line!

Castle speaks Chinese (was that an actual line from Firefly?) and Becket asks him where he learned it.

He responds, "From and old TV show I used to love."

Priceless.
