Firefly's Fillion Moves into Castle

Not happy about the change from Marlowe, he's been doing an amazing job.

It will be interesting to see if we as viewers will notice any difference in the show with this change. It seems alot of fans have mixed feelings about this. I wonder what the cast reactions were when they were informed.

Back when they finished filming the season, there were a number of tweets from various cast members about being sad to see people go... Not angry sad, just sad... I suspect they've all known for a while...

lol such a tease. 23 episodes this season or maybe the question mark means they're not sure yet but will outline just in case?

'still' was an additional episode added on after the season had been filmed, it's surprisingly common for shows to get one episode added/removed... So I'm guessing they'll write a filler just in case.

I'm wondering what 11 & 17 have in them that makes them worthy of being highlighted?

Or it means they don't have an episode title for it yet and are debating what to call it.

I think that is when they return from hiatus. First 10 before winter break then 6 more then another break then the rest?

Question: Any word on who will be writing Castle‘s season premiere? —Ben
Ausiello: The good news: Newly coronated showrunner David Amann is penning the Season 7 opener. The even better news: Rob Bowman is directing. And now, the provocative news: Castle will return with a two-parter, and to that end is casting the guest-starring role of “Henry,” a highly intelligent yet unassuming gent who’s deft at blending into a crowd. (A spook-y nemesis of Jackson Hunt’s? 3XK with a new face c/o Dr. Niemann? Discuss.) Also being guest-cast for the premiere are a Hamptons police sergeant, a doctor, a shrink and… a Coast Guard captain?!

Interesting, will the two parter be basically a double ep to kick off the season like with 24?

Can you tell me who ran Castle off the road in last year's Castle finale? — Diana
Nope, but I can certainly tell you who didn't. For fans convinced that last year's fiery cliff-hanger was brought on by either existing nemeses Bracken and 3XK or even Castle's own father, allow new showrunner David Amann to burst your bubble. "The mythology we're getting into is going to go past all that into some new territory," he says. "Those are all fair game, but it's not going to be what the opening of the season is about." What the new season is about is unearthing new secrets about Castle. But how will that impact the Castle-Beckett relationship? "Things that are going to come to light that are going to be unsettling for Beckett," Amann teases. "But we're committed to that relationship. I don't think what happened to Castle is going to disrupt the trajectory of that relationship, at least not in the long term."

Hmmmmmm, I hope this new mythology isn't some crazy ex from Castle's past who wants to prevent him marrying Beckett, I can't really imagine what other kind of secret past Castle could have that would lead to being ran off the road and kidnapped.

Maybe Castle has a twin brother, or a split personality and he ran himself off the road. :p

We know that the season opener of Castle starts right where we left off in the finale, but is there a time jump after those first initial scenes? —Rachael
Ausiello: Yes, the Sept. 29 premiere features a time jump — and a rather significant one at that — but my lips are zipped about exactly when in the episode the clocks spring forward.

Question: I am dying to know the Castle Season 7 premiere title! —Sandra
Ausiello: The opener, which (per ABC) “promises to put Beckett through the toughest case of her career,” is titled… fittingly… “Driven.”

Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on Once, Grey's, Sons of Anarchy, Hawaii Five-0, Castle, NCIS: LA, Scandal and More

So Castle could be gone for a long time then? Maybe this new Mythology is that he returns with no memory and they have to try and work out what he did and where he was during his time away?

How much mermory lost though? Like He won't remember anything to anyone, maybe Beckett has to make him fall in love with her, as suppose to him chasing her.

Wonder if they will do something like that.

I hope not. When they have these sorts of plots in shows to reset the clock on a relationship again, that's when they usually jump the shark. It's as if they are prolonging it for the sake of prolonging it and finding all kinds of obstacles to prevent them from getting together.

Just get the two of them married and move on from there.

If there is memory loss, then it would start at the abduction IMHO... Marlowe kinda broke the show with that twist... I can't see the new guy wanting his first episode to make that mistake worse.

My guess is that Rick will be found on a boat (hence the casting of the coastguard bloke), adrift with no idea how he got there... Then the season will be him slowly recovering bits of memory...

Personally, I hope if he gets found it won't take the entire season.Luckily the whole Washington DC plot this past season only lasted a couple of episodes.

Were people that bothered by the twist in the season 6 finale?

If they are going to do a memory loss angle then I agree that it definitely needs to only be his recent memory, having him not remember Beckett would be a huge set back to all the development the series has done over the last 2 seasons with that relationship.

Yeah, that would be such a drag. And then what often happens in these sorts of scenarios is that Castle would find love in someone else's arms while not remembering Beckett, and the whole thing would be undone, even if he does remember later on. I hope they don't go down this route at all.

Yeah, just looking it up, it didn't seem to go well at all. Heck, new showrunner.

I know a few people that have literally gone '**** it, I'm out' at that twist... The fact they spent all season building that wedding up, then using such a cliche'd plot twist pissed a lot of people off.

I can see their point, it was a poor choice of twists, I think there are a few different ways of keeping the disappearing twist with it's shock value intact and giving people what they wanted, which was the wedding.

It would be an absolute disaster if they went that route, I can't believe they'd make such a poor choice, the show has always been good at moving forward.

Wow! I didn't think it was a great idea but it seems some have overreacted a bit IMO.
