Firefly's Fillion Moves into Castle

Looking forward to Castle vs The Dread Pirate Roberts. :D

You know, I was giving Alexis a lot of leeway, because I guess I understood where she was coming from, and she is just trying to grow up and learn how to get by on her own. But in the latest Episode, I get a teensy bit annoyed by her attitude.

It's not like Castle proposed to Beckett on a whim, who he only knew for a month. He's been with her for years, and they have been a couple for months. And now she is hurt simply because she didn't get the news directly from her father. Even saying she doesn't know whether it's a good idea, or if she's the one. If it would be any other woman, I'd understand. But she has known Beckett for years now as well, and obviously she likes her. But apparently even Alexis, no matter how smart, isn't safe from the teeny drama phase.

They've just chucked Alexis back to being a 12 year old with this big strop...someone tell her to grow the **** up...

LOVED the sword fight... Utterly hilarious that Castle would know how to sword fight and actually be damned good at it LOL

Yeah, is an awesome sword fighter and a good shot. I wonder what other talent they'll reveal in the future. You know, with his love for spycraft, I'm actually surprised he didn't take any sort of martial arts lessons.

Back on form this week, rally fun mystery and a cool sword fight! :D

I think Alexis had every right to be annoyed with Castle's attitude, but trying to have her question his and Beckett's relationship seemed forced.

I agree that Alexis had every right to be angry with Castle's behavior. But like you said, her reaction towards the Beckett situation was forced. Had they left that part out, I wouldn't have had an issue with Alexis this Episode, and would still defend her actions. A teenager just trying to live life on her own. But her whole beef with not getting the news from her dad directly, just ruined it.

They were going for an acceptance parallel that made no sense given Alexis and Beckett have always gotten on well.

Yeah, had Alexis ever shown even a hint of dislike towards Beckett it would have at least made some sense. Instead, they've always gotten along well and never had a disagreement or problem.

Then for Alexis to so severely over-react to the engagement? That wasn't just out of character, it's perposterous. She felt snubbed by not being told of the engagement right away so she finds Pi(e) and infuriates her father with him.

Next weeks looks really good.

Nice promo.
Although I initially thought/hoped it was going to be Pi on death row...

I finally saw this tonight on DVR.

In an otherwise great ep, Alexis, who used to be one of my favorite characters on Castle, managed to kick the ep down a notch.

She used to be one of the smartest and level-headed people on the show outside of Beckett...a great foil for her dad's brashness.

I'll tell you one thing: Alexis accepting a woman like Beckett, is MANY levels higher than Castle accepting someone like Pi. Especially since, as pointed out before, Alexis actually got to know Beckett through thick and thin, while Pi just popped up out of nowhere, preaching fruity nothingness.

**** you, Alexis.

It's not just that Alexis got to know Beckett over many years. It's that Castle got to know Beckett over many years before even deciding to be together and eventually proposing. He saw her in all kinds of circumstances to know that she was really a person of character and right for him.

Alexis has only known Pi how many months? And she imposed Pi on her father from an early stage, having him move in with them. Castle never did that with Beckett.

So her comparison is completely warped.

BTW when there was that mouth on that symbol on the wall, I knew immediately when Castle stuck his hand in it, that he was going to do that old "Mouth of Truth" trick of pretending that something has his hand. That happened in National Treasure 2 and Only You, both of which originally came from Roman Holiday.

Any time you see a hole in a wall or door that requires someone to stick a hand in there, you know that trick is coming.

I only emphasized that part because Alexis' whole "bad-dad" speech was about "I accepted your woman, why can't you accept my man?" My first reaction to that was: "Yo *****, accepting Beckett is MANY orders of magnitude easier than accepting Pi."

It really makes me scratch my head how the writers could come up with that. I get the whole trying to be independent, and not liking it when your dad gives you attitude as you try your best. But the whole Beckett thing? Especially with their history? Knowing her for years, taking a liking to her, knowing all the **** Beckett and Castle went through, and she feels snubbed as if Castle went behind her back? There's just no logic behind it.

Good to see I am not the only one who hates the Alexis storyline this season.

I only started to get annoyed this Episode. Otherwise I can understand a teenager trying to be independent.

She was being the typical newly independent teenager right up to that point. That's when they broke the character to me.

The silly thing was they didn't need her to bring Beckett up to justifiably be mad at Castle, but the biggest hang up is it's impossible to see what she is supposed to see in Pi as there has been no development between the two to show any chemistry.

Pi hasn't had much development either outside of the stereotypes meant to make him unlikable. We haven't seen why he's so damned annoying, just that he is. Maybe we'll get that soon but it feels disjointed to make this blow up by Alexis before we see what Pi is about and why she is with him.

Agreed, they should have established that relationship before moving into this arc as so far all Pi has been is a goofy comedy addition, not a character that should be at the center of such drama between Castle and Alexis.

This latest Episode gave me a bunch of feels.

This weeks was a classic! Loved the Castle and Alexis team up and the way they still filtered in Beckett, Ryan, Espo and Lanie.
