Sequels First Class: New Characters!

Heres an idea, everyone is buzzing on Young Cyclops, Young Jean, Young Beast for the First Class idea...

Has anyone else considered using this film to introduce some of the more popular character thats has yet to have appeared in the series so far, For that i mean.

Havok, Polaris, Forge, Morph, Wolfbane, Thunderbird, Banshee?

The way i see it if mutants from strykers base end up in xaviers first class, really the first class would consist of Cyclops, White Queen, Quicksilver, Possibly Scarlet Witch, Toad, Riptide, Jason Stryker and Banshee. Plus Jean Grey and possibly Storm.

But i think that being x-men first class being based on a teen action drama. It would make sense to have a rival for Cyclops, that being his own brother Havok.

It it ends up being another trilogy, which they intend, then they will probably introduce a few new characters with each movie.

I personally want to see Avalanche at some point.

i just hope when adding new characters take Brian signers approach:

"When i add a new character i look at 2 things,first what make them different from everybody else.Also will they in any way shape or form advance the stories plot."

i do want new characters......BUT i want the ones we already have seen more fleshed out! bc they havent been thus far. sure i want the new people to be rounded out but my main priority is DEF Scott, Jean, Ororo, and Hank.

You cant apply Bryan Singers approach to the newer x-men movies because when Bryan Singer worked on x1 and x2 it was the start of the franchise, and so that principle works however 4 movies in, they need to tie it all together and were faced with a problem, how far do we move away from the comic to introduce new characters that dont belong in that story... good example is X-Men Origins Wolverine...

So id rather have Cyclops and Havok appear, there ability and past make them simular but Havok could potentially move the story along.

I agree. Now with the focus finally off Wolverine, let the characters who didn't get enough development in the original trilogy to get some attention. They can go crazy with new characters for First Class 2 if they need to.

I think that the "first class" should be Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Storm, Emma Frost, and possibly Havok. IMO, it would be interesting to see a love triangle between Cyclops, Jean, and Emma Frost, even though Scott and Emma's didn't start until after Jean's death in the comics. I also wouldn't mind seeing a relationship between Beast and Storm.

Scott and Emma started before Jean's death. That love triangle was the main story arc for those characters during Morrison's run on New X-men

Well, considering that Angel didn't officially show up until X3, and Iceman would have been like 2, then yeah, you can pretty much give up on the real first class.

IMO, taking a classic name such as "First Class" from the original storyline and then slapping it on a prequel of the Fox X-men movies is complete bs. It's like coming out with a movie called Marvel: Civil War and basing it on the Wolverine and Sabertooth in the American war of independence. Use a different name and save the "First Class" name for a movie that stays true to that original storyline. Gees.

well you can call it first class because it is the first class of X-men , as far as the movie continuity is concerned. Angel and Iceman aren't in it, then oh well. That's one of the changes that I can live with. All movie adaptations have some differences from the source material. The change in the line up of the original X-men is not that big of a change as far as I'm concerned. I'd rather they get the character's portrayals right.

Iceman and Angel, would still be to young to actually be part of the ground, or official "first class"

but, cameo appearances, or refers to them, I think might still be possible

with Angel, in 3 he didn't show up at the mansion, until after Scott, Jean, and the professor were already gone, so, it wouldn't really break continues for him to met them...

I could see, Warren's father after first discovering he was a mutant, bringing him to Xavier, hoping to find a cure (kinda like Stryker did with Jason)
(when finding out there is no cure, he become obsessed with finding one)

young Angel shows up at the mansion, with his father, his father an Xavier go off to talk, in his office, and young Warren starts to look around the mansion an comes across Scott and Jean...

as for Iceman, maybe a scene with Xavier using Cerebro and we see him passing over a young blond hair boy, playing in the snow, and have in the background his parents calling out something like "Bobby, Bobby, come in you'll turn to ice out there" hehe
and you might just see a snowball, in that scene

no, no, I was just using the Stryker and Jason thing. as an example, I wasn't talking about Jason, I was talking about Angel (young Warren)

though, I still wouldn't mind seeing the the Jason thing done in a flashback

Cyke and Emma For sure...and the other muties in the Wolvie scene, maybe even Gambit?...I wouldn't mind Jean, Storm, and Beast appearing later down the road...(if First Class becomes a series...)...

Based on the Wolverine scene......I think it would be interesting to see that the Original Team (except Cyke) leaving/disbanding and then have Storm, Jean, and Beast join the team and that Cyke, Storm, Jean, and Beast weren't the Original team but one of (however many incarnations) of the team with Cyke the only consistent member?
