First Look at Loki and Odin

Looks stupid.

This is supposed to be about Norse Gods, right?
Supposed to be BASED on Norse gods. MARVEL's Asgard is different in many ways. Jack Kirby's Asgard was a more Modern tech look over the Viking age look.
Looks fine to me

It looks more than fine, it looks amazing! ;)

I know Marvel´s Asgard doesn´t look literally like norse mythology, but that kinda look makes me think of something more based on technology than magic and mysticism, it´s like putting a hi-tech suit on Gandalf, it just kills some of its character.

That's Loki? Doesn't really seem to be the very embodiment of chaos and evil to me.
My other problem? The lighting. It looks like a rap video. This photo is the final red flag for me.

Sorry guys. I'm checking out. Not into this film any longer.

The rest of your post, fair enough, to each his own. But when has Loki ever been "the embodiment of chaos and evil"? He's the god of mischief and he wants to conquer Asgard to get back at Odin and Thor for his crappy childhood. Loki's always been more petty than a malevolent presence of epic proportions or whatever. His plans are huge in scope, but his ultimate aims and motivations really aren't. He's the unloved, jealous son raging against daddy and the "good" son.

Still a little bugged by Thor's costume design from the waist down. The upper part seems really busy, without any balance from the waist down. it looks kinds plain. I wanna see it in action though. My mind may change.

Loki and Odin look badass, though.

that's one of my couple of gripes as well, not only do the costumes look like they were designed by Joel Schumacher (I'm actually surprised they're lacking nipples) amazing right there, but the actor playing Loki looks like a flippin' CHUMP

Loki looking like the "very embodiment of chaos and evil" would be the very embodiment of everything he sets out not to be. He's a trickster god, he's supposed to look like someone you'd trust.

Loki has always looked like a chump. Loki is a chump. That's the point.

I see your point UF REALLY.
In a way I was alittle disappointed they went the Kirby route at first because when they First annouced Thor as a movie they did say they wanted to make a LotR film, but their excuse was it would have been too costly. :(

I don't see the Schumacher influence, myself. Schumacher to me screams "molded rubber muscles." This is really busy, layered armor. I like the look of it.

Idk...i mean, i get where there going with it, and i'm not writing it off just yet, but i do think it looks kind of...corny. Mostly its just the lighting, a little too bright for what i pictured the home of hte viking gods to be. Like mentioned above, i would have preferred a more viking influenced asgard to kirbys "alien" take. But, i'll wait to see some finished footage before i make a final verdict...but i do have to agree boney dubs about thors hammer... not digging it. Looks like a plastic cube.

Personally, I don't like the future look the designers went for regarding the costumes. I understand they're doing this in order to make the meeting of Iron Man and everyone else more 'realistic', but I think the costumes should have been more gritter. Then again, this is just the second image we've gotten. I''ll hold off further judgement until we get a trailer.

The pic looks like it was top-lit with flourescents.

Their standing in an office building!

lol, like the costumes, hate the lighting...

I think we need to see how they look on screen. I remember there was uproar with zeus' costume in CoTT but when you saw the final result complete with effects it looked amazing.

I've got to be honest though I was expecting something more 'viking' and less 'future tech'

Not even Zeus' nice shinny costume could save the trash that was Clash of the Titans. :oldrazz:

I agree with everyone that was looking for something grittier and not so "futuristic or Iron Man" looking

I think that's my problem with it, it's more of an updated look from the comics/animated projects and that's not what I was expecting, at all

Looks Good!!

Nice. Got kind of a Lord of the Rings vibe going there.

I don't like the costumes. They look cheap.
