Hmm... Weird, I Though we all looked kinda like this

:hehe:

We look like an amalgamation of those two species.:woot:

People on here will always nit-pick and complain about every single little flaw. I'm 25 years old now so I'm over that kind of behavior, I'm (trying) going to act like an adult now.

I like what I see so far but I'll wait for a full pic of the costume to fully judge it one way or the other.

Nerdgasm! :awesome:

I just went nuts at that, freaking awesome stuff!!:awesome::awesome:

Saw this @ work today and nearly yelled out "YESSSS!!!" in the middle of a dead quiet office...suffice it to say, I am pleased, so far...nice translation of the current Coipel version of his look. BRING ON THE HELMET!!!

Win! Too bad they picked the worst possible photo, though, with much of the costume obscured (or absent, as we can assume for the helmet). Looks promising, though.

That pic looks great and I can't wait for this movie. Thor happens to be one of my dad's favorites so if I showed him this pic I'm sure he'll be interested in this movie.

Why R so people complaining about the look of the arms? Its obviously not metal and will get improved upon in post-production...I recall when some were complaining about the look of Dr. Fate's helmet in "Absolute Justice" when the first pics were released...He turned out to be the best looking and and the best portrayed character in that episode IMHO....

I don't need a full body shot to make my judgement. I like the direction they are going in. I will say i am a fan of the sleeveless look as I don't buy metal formfitting like that is it's impossible to say the least. The asthetic works on paper not in real life. But whatever. Still looks cool.

The pic's really grown on me since this morning. Out of all the various designs of Thor's costume, I'm glad they went with Oliver Copiel's. I'm definitely buying the first trade of Straczynski's run tomorrow for free comic book day.:word:

Do we know if there's a great time divide between the Asgard scenes and the Midgard stuff?

Is it possible that before he's sent to earth the Asgardians wear something a little more low-tech and when Thor...becomes Thor again, his costume is updated and that's what we're seeing?

Awesome stuff. I'm shocked at how close to the comics it is. Love it though.

here is is in all its glory!!!

Looks pretty cool even though we only see about half of him.

So we can use this pic in caption threads & avatars (as I currently am) but not the Destroyer pic, right?

Yes because this picture was an official release. It's on the SHH main page. Good rule of thumb for figuring out if you can post something in the forums.

Oh. Now I noticed something else missing. MUSCLES. TONS OF MUSCLES. Maybe they'll fix that too.
um in case you've forgotten, if you go back in the comics to when Thor first returns in Journey into Mystery 83, Thor isn't as built as JMS's Thor in the modern comics.
The movie is supposed to be the Origin movie. It'll copy some of each of the LEE/Kirby Thor and JMS/Coipel Thor.

I Can't wait to see the rest! :wow:

That's not even the first film, much less the first image released. :whatever:

He was saying that the pics we see now will most likely look at least some different...

Not to mention that those are all comic books. Expecting comic book-level muscles on a real human being is just ridiculous right from the get-go. I can't believe this concept has had to be explained multiple times at this point.

Well we Older fans have been it over and over.
I for one have been over similar explianations Like FF's Thing and his Brow in the FF movie. lol

Man, loving that pic!

Can you believe that (hopefully) in just a few years or so we'll be seeing him along side ole' Shellhead, Cap and the friggin' Hulk.

CANNOT believe that Marvel might just pull this off!

Spot on,mate.

It just strikes me as a bit crazy that people can take a picture of Hemsworth by himself, with nothing to judge scale against, and claim that he looks "too small." Chris Evans is 6'2" with a fairly muscular build and Robert Downey, Jr. is 5'9" with a relatively normal build. Thor is gonna tower over both of them on screen and he'll be at least as bulky as Cap. Can't really ask for more than that without moving into steroids and/or lifetime bodybuilding territory.

I can't believe he looks so close to the comic. I'm so happy right now. I was expecting them to mess it all up, and maybe go with the ultimate costume or something. Thank god they didn't. Thor is not a damn biker ffs.

Plus with the secret ending of IM2, I have a feeling The Avengers is closer than we think. :)

*jumps up and down*

I could only be happier if I saw the helmet. And Mjolnir.

We're still a year out and they've just barely completed principal photography. They gotta save some stuff for the rest of the marketing campaign. ;)
