The first episode of Smallville I watched was Metamorphosis. I was in my room at the time and I had no idea what the show was about really. My sister just said it's young Clark Kent. I didn't even know if he would be wearing the suit or not.

I like to look back on that moment as a treasure.

Hmmm.... interesting. I was in my house, in Australia, and the first episode I watched was the Pilot.

All I can remember thinking, during that beginning sequence with the meteors crashing all around Smallville, was wow!!! This is spectacular. :wow:

Oh, the other thing I distinctly remember was, "it's going to take me some time getting used to seeing this guy run at superspeed everywhere, rather than flying".

    :woot:

My first episode was Visage, the one where Tina takes the place of Whitney...

Man, was I confused. I liked it anyway, but I had no idea what was going on.

I was in my dining room in Colorado since Mr. Triplet didn't want to watch, he was downstairs in the living room watching something else.

Well, we didn't have the WB for the first two years the show was on, and by the time we finally got it, season three was over halfway over, so..... mine was Memoria. I've been hooked to the show ever since and have all the seasons on DVD, and I still love that episode.

The pilot...I actually rented the DVD (or was it VHS?) that had the pilot and 1-2 episodes after that. I had seen the title "Smallville" here, when searching for Superman movie news but I actually had NO idea what it was. I didn't bother looking into it (I didn't know it was a TV Show) and I didn't even know that what I rented was actually the "Smallville" I had seen about, online, even though I didn't know what it was.

My brother thought I was stupid for renting it. He said "WTF is this? Why would you rent this?"...I watched it, I liked it and a couple of weeks later I saw TV spots for it on a local channel saying they'd show season 1.
That's when my brother started watching it too.

We would watch it in different rooms and I remember watching "Tempest" and we had no idea it was the last episode. We were so confused and pissed when, next week, we found out there wasn't another episode. That's when we started....downloading...season 2 episodes since they had already started airing in the US.

Long post... :) Anyway...The pilot, at home.

I don't remember. :( Not that it wasn't memorable; I just have a really ****ty memory about some things.

I do remember my eyes going o_O when I first saw Tom as Clark though.

The pilot at home. I was curious about the show from the articles I read, but felt that it was going to be very short lived. Just didn't think it was going to go over well with the GA. When I watched it I was very surprised about how good it was...I guess it hit me when Clark and his dad had there little heart to heart in the barn. Clark sticks his arm in the chipper and says "Is this normal?" then super speeds away...man I loved that scene.

I remember I was in a play at the time, and it just so happened I had to rehearse that night. So I set my vcr and when I got home to watch it my tape had ran out and I didn't get the last ten minutes or so. I was soooo mad, luckily my dad taped it (he was a big Roswell fan and was looking for a replacement show) so a few days later I got to finish it.

Can't believe that here we are 7 seasons in, who'd a thunk it??

I'm not 100% sure which was my first. It was either "Krypto", "Witness", or "Aqua".

Either way, I was fascinated by the concept of the show, dug a little deeper into it, and fell in love.

Exile, I was at the Grove in Los Angeles shopping and they were having some WB Smallville/Angel premiere thingy for fans (I also told JS that night I lusted after him when I was 8--he looked at me like I had 2 heads). It was on a big screen and all I thought was 'wow it looks like a movie" I had no idea why Clark was getting juiced on a red school ring and I didn't care, it all looked very cool and I was hooked that very moment:)

I'm not sure, it was the 2003/04 season. I don't remember when Angel went off the air exactly. But the only reason we even stayed was because my friend had a major crush on David B. and wanted to wait to see him, and Smallville was on first:) so I have her to thank:D

The first episode of Smallvile I ever watched was the Season 3 finale, "Covenant". I was at a friend's house. After watching the episode, I went into the city and bought Seasons 1, 2, and 3. I have been hooked ever since.

Season 1 Pilot October 2001, freshmen year college in my dorm. I didnt realise there making another Superman pilot. I was suprised they launched a Superman theme series so soon after Lois and Clark (4 years removed). But I liked the modern vibe to it. Welling bared a striking resemblence to Christopher Reeve, Rosenbaum played a fresh sinsister Lex and Kreuk was stunning to me as Lana.
Been watching since with ups and downs.

Actually, the better question for me is when (like you) I fell in love with the show.... For me, it wasn't with Visage.

I watched pretty faithfully after seeing the first one I did, but I didn't fall in love with the show until I finally saw the Pilot a year and a half later...

When it came around to my birthday, I had put Smallville season DVD sets on my wishlist. I got the first two that year, 2004, and watched the episodes back to back as much as I could.

I hadn't ever seen the Pilot in its entirety before, I'd only seen parts of it when it came on earlier that year, but when I saw the whole thing I fell in love with the show and with Tom's portrayal of Clark.

That's when I was hooked and that's when I started getting involved with online stuff and, in addition to writing the reviews every week, I even wrote a smallville spec script, which actually did pretty good in some contests about a year or so later.

I'm still in love with the show, even though it does let me down from time to time (the occassional dud like Blue or Static) and I still love Tom's take on Clark, even in the midst of dreck eps where Clark is acting OOC.

You know, I had heard about the show but I hadn't wanted to watch it at all. I was a huge superman fan when I was a kid and I thought the show would cheapen the myth... I didn't want to see Dawson's Smallville.

    Seriously.

I know that sounds like an arrogant fanboyish reaction, but that's how I had felt and then my sister (who barely likes the show now, she loathes Lana and doesn't like Chloe much) said, "It's about Superman, so you'll like it. Give it a try, it's better than you think it could be."

She was right, so I have the eldest of the trips to thank for the youngest trip getting so much into the show.

She is amazed when we talk about it that I didn't want to watch the show at first given how "into it" I am now...

    :D

The fact that it was a Dawson's Smallville was part of the appeal (people sleep on how decent that show was compared to latter day teen dramas like the OC and OTH. Didnt match the excellence My So Called Life or Freaks N Geeks but it had its moments) but I digress.... I thought the simplicity of the show with the FOTW and everything being so young and at the begininng was part of the fun fo watching it. It was easy hangover tv It all went to hell starting from Season 4 with only flashes of brillance this season.
