What's Val Kilmer up to in Mexico?
Date : May 31, 2007 Posted By : Clint Morris

'The Bat Signal' has news on a new Val Kilmer film that's just got underway a few miles up the road from Area 51.

Says our scooper, "Val Kilmer will headline "Conspiracy". The story concerns a seasoned senior
enlisted special operations Marine who is wounded during combat operations in Iraq. He recovers but is retired from the Marine Corps. He visits a friend on a ranch in the south west during his convalesce but when he arrives he discovers his friend has disappeared and no one will even admit to knowing of him. The production started filming yesterday in New Mexico".

So rumours suggesting he's cameoing as an older Bruce Wayne - in a flash forward sequence - in "The Dark Knight" are false, then? ;)

This is priceless. Of course everybody knew that line was a joke.... except this crowd. Best laugh I've had all day. I guess that's what you get when you don't do ya research, hey!?

Is this a joke or has there truly been rumors to this effect?

I doubt this is true. Nolan and co. are trying to distance themselves from the Shoemaker films as much as possible, and bringing Val Kilmer into a Batman movie again, after calling the series a complete restart of the Batman film franchise, could be very confusing for the casual movie-goer.
I'm not saying there can't be an older Bruce flash-forward sequence (though I fail to see the point of it), only that it is highly unlikely that they will use any of the actors involved in the previous Batman movies in this particular movie trilogy.

wow...that gave me a good laugh.

If there are any time-jumping moments...I'm pretty sure it will be flashbacks not flashfowards.

Even still, if there was a "flashforward," I think Nolan would have enough resources to put make-up on Bale to make him look old. That, or CGI the crap outta his face!

That was the point of my thread, is their any validity to the older Bruce Wayne rumor.

No way in hell do I see Kilmer playing it if true.

It would have to be:

James Brolin

Now Christian Bale

There's part of me that would like this to be true, even though there's no chance. I liked Kilmer in the role, in a better film he would have been decent. But I'd hate the fuss it would cause and its way too early in Batman's career for flashforwards anyway.

i could actually see brolin as an older bale but if they decided to show an older bruce wayne, bale himself would be playing him.

I still stand by my "make-up, cgi" idea. But, yeah, Brolin in Amityville is Bale.

Seriously, compare Amityville to Reign of Fire.

Spot on, Ray!

No way. Ron Perlman all the way (even though he looks nothing like Bale)

That way they could do DKR Batman.

obviously this rumour is false and all, but I actually think it would be a cool idea if they were some reason for it to actually make sense within the context of the movie to have a flashforward.

Some kind of philosophical discussion with the Joker maybe? Although a flashforward would probably come across as cheesy

Brolin up for BATMAN bEYOND mOVie

cRAzzzzzzzzzYYYYy

I would have tried for a Brolin/Reeve film back then, would have been awesome!

I got that Batman vibe watching Amityville too, funny how they both worked with Margot Kidder...

I don't know how a flash forward could be used effectively.

That is what is exciting about the possibility. I hate being smart enough to figure out the answers to problems like this.

Lets see more innovation thinking with movie making.

It would be set after he and Catwoman have already left Gotham for good.

The film ends with a a bearded, drunken Bruce yelling "We have to go back!"

Well, thats the end of that.

Mods, please close.

Sounds rubbish... if they wanted they could Keaton or Conroy to be older Wayne still sounds rubbish idea.
