Everything You Know Will Change in a Flash!
Not a dream, not an imaginary story, not an elseworld. This is a Flash Fact: When Barry Allen wakes at his desk, he discovers the world has changed. Family is alive, loved ones are strangers, and close friends are different, gone or worse. It’s a world on the brink of a cataclysmic war – but where are Earth’s Greatest Heroes to stop it? It’s a place where America’s last hope is Cyborg, who hopes to gather the forces of the Outsider, the Secret 7, S!H!A!M!Z!A!M!, Citizen Cold and other new and familiar-yet-altered faces.
It’s a world that could be running out of time, if The Flash can’t find the villain who altered the time line!
Welcome to FLASHPOINT!
On sale MAY 11 = 40 pg, FC, $3.99 US = Rated T
The five issues of the core FLASHPOINT series are oversized, 40 page books priced at $3.99 each, while the other mini series and the one shots will be priced at $2.99.
A lot of planning has gone into place to make sure that this series delivers on all of it’s earth shattering potential. It is a project as ambitious in scope and execution as anything I’ve been a part of in my six years at DC Comics.
It bears repeating: Everything You Know Will Change in a Flash!

Yeehaw!!!!

Still don't really care. I'm thinking I'll pick up the Citizen Cold mini, though. That one sounds fun. Maybe the Aquaman mini as well, just to show some monetary support for the character.

I wonder how Wally, Bart and Jay will fit into this.

I'm guessing they're taken out of the game early somehow, leaving Barry to be the big hero. This entire event is to promote Barry, after all, just like all of the GL events have been primarily aimed at promoting Hal.

That's a horribly written sentence, go back to school previews writing person.

Doubt i will buy any Flashpoint comic books except Secret Seven

No interest in anything else about this event

Sounds like it will suck

I'll look into it. I like all of the Flashes except for Bart.

He's not even a Flash anymore, he's Kid Flash again. And his time as the Flash wasn't so bad toward the end.

Meh. Made sense for the GLs since they're all about the rings. The Flash's costume-ring always seemed stupid to me--doubly so when Wally learned to form frictionless costumes out of pure Speed Force energy.

It worked in Blitz/Ignition, I didn't think it would be permanent.

Yeah, it was a nice trigger for Wally to rediscover his identity, but the fact that he kept using it afterwards--even though I believe it shot out Speed Force energy rather than the actual costume--was kind of silly.

Geoff Johns talks Flashpoint:

What is the FLASHPOINT? Is there a moment where everything in the DC Universe as we know changes?
When you open up the first issue, you’ll enter an entirely new world that will be both familiar and new. Flash will learn what the universe would be like if the world’s greatest super-heroes never became the world’s greatest super-heroes. When, how and why everything changes and what that means to the future of the DC Universe will be answered in the series. Oh, and Andy Kubert has done an absolutely unbelievable job on the book. Wait until you see what’s happened to Aquaman, Superman and Wonder Woman.
We’ve seen the blackboard in the pages of TIME MASTERS 6. Ok, we’ll bite. Who or what is S!H!A!Z!A!M!?
You’ll find out what S!H!A!Z!A!M! is in the very first issue of Flashpoint. What we didn’t want to do with this series was the expected. You won’t just see the DC Universe shaken up, you’ll see characters you’ve never met who’ve come into existence because of the historical damage done to the past. From Element Woman to Blackout to the Outsider to the Resistance. In a strange way, these new characters include S!H!A!Z!A!M! It may be the most radical change when it comes to the core DC Universe, but not quite…
Fans want clues about FLASHPOINT. What storylines might they want to revisit for an informed idea as to where we are headed?
Honestly, none. The Flash series and The Flash: Rebirth give you the foundation for Barry today, but even then Flashpoint #1 will tell you everything you need to know. You’ll meet the world and characters as you enter the story. But if you want to get really into it and meet some characters that are going to be making appearances you could pull out that copy of Batman: Year One, remind yourself who Steve Trevor is, check out Peter Milligan’s amazing run on Shade the Changing Man, prepare for Green Lantern Abin Sur’s return and make sure to pick up Dan Jurgens triumphant return to Booster Gold in May! Booster Gold is the only monthly book that ties into Flashpoint for obvious reasons and it’s great to see Dan back on it!

It started off decent then slided into mediocrity. Not terrible by any means, but not great either.

Might check out the first few issues of his new run see what they are like
