Flatliners Gets a Pulse

Columbia Pictures plans a remake of the original film.

Columbia Pictures is pulling Flatliners back into the land of the living. The studio is currently planning a remake of Joel Schumacher's 1990 drama that starred a young Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland.

The Hollywood Reporterhttp://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/flatliners-revived-by-columbia-pictures-228327 provided the news on the upcoming reboot. Source Code scribe Ben Ripley has been tapped to pen the script, which follows a group of medical students who attempt to flatline themselves to see what lies in the great beyond.

Laurence Mark of Jerry Maguire fame is producing the flick along with Further Films, which produced the original Flatliners.

I enjoyed the first movie & see no need to remake it, they could always do a sequel & use all their new ideas in that instead of rebooting an already perfectly good movie.
