WB to Remake "The Krays"

It looks like a remake is in the works. This has great potential specially if they get a great writer and director since the life of the Krays were quite interesting.

With this under WB and with Bale possibly involved, I wonder if they'll try to court Nolan?

Christian Bale is in talks to star in Warner Bros.’ remake of Peter Medak’s 1990 crime drama, THE KRAYS. The pic will follow the true story of the Kray twins, Reginald and Ronald, who were the foremost perpetrators of organized crime in London’s East End during the 1950s and 1960s. The original film starred Gary and Martin Kemp as the infamous brothers.

This was posted though as a description of that headline I posted so it looks like the offer is for Bale to play both parts. Not sure if it's just speculation or that's the info that they got.

In that picture you posted of the real Krays, one of the twins look like Adrien Brody while the other looks like James Franco.

ETA: Oh wait, I think they should've said "to play twins once again" if they meant both parts so nevermind.

Well the Krays were bloodthirsty gangsters. But, they only killed or harmed other gangsters. People regularly say London had never been a safer place to be than when the Krays were around. Ronnie was a full blown psychopath though.

This could be such a cool film. A gangster film set in London's swinging 60s. Conspiracies with crooked politicians. Could even show them as young boys in London during the Blitz. Show them boxing as teenagers. So many possibilities

Daniel Craig wold be much better suited to play the twins. Christian Bale looks nothing like them.

I'v been waiting for a remake for a long time. The 1990's version didnt really do it for me .. They better get this one started within the next year.
