Do we have any confirmation, though?
Do we have any confirmation, though?
All of that plus that she has strong fighting skills, strong hand to hand/close quarters combat, she wields daggers like nobody's business, she has her sword Dragonfang which if i remember correctly from the movie has the same origins as in the comics and Tessa Thompson also said that Valkyrie has the "death perception/death glow" which means that she can see when someone is about to die. But i am pretty sure that is not addressed in the movie. Her powers are about the same as most Asgardian right? Durability, super strength, etc.
She was spotted in Scotland while the filming was going on and a person got a selfie with her claiming she was filming IW.
So the alternatives are she just happened to be on vacation in the same city they were shooting an Avengers movie. Or she was just visiting her friends.
But:
Given the way Ragnarok ends, it's unlikely she won't be seen in some capacity.

Thompson is a big fan of Valkyrie and her love interest Annabelle Riggs in the comics and wanted to stay true to the characters sexuality onscreen. She asked director Taika Waititi to film a moment where a woman walks out of Valkyries bedroom, hinting that they slept together. According to Rolling Stone, Waititi kept it in the film as long as he could, but the shot eventually got cut because it distracted from the scenes primary purpose.
I loved Valkyrie and I love that if I ever have a daughter, I'll be able to get her a Valkyrie action figure and a Wonder Woman one and show her how women can be beautiful, strong and diverse. Casting Tessa was genius. What a great time to be a woman.
Indeed! I feel like when I was a kid, there was really only Princess Leia for us. Now... we are legion![]()
YES. THIS. I can't remember what female role models I really had growing up... April O'Neill from TMNT is the only one I can think of. I definitely wanted to be a reporter because of her. However in terms of big screen heroines... there just weren't any (apart from Leia and to be fair, they pretty much turned her from spunky Princess into the ultimate male fantasy in ROTJ)
This year there's been WW and Vakyrie. We have Rey in Star Wars (who hopefully won't end up in a slave girl outfit at any point) and it won't be long before Captain Marvel comes along. It's so exciting.
And on Valkyrie- pages back there was a criticism of her being so covered up... oh, yes, welcome to the new world. And so glad she doesn't appear to wear a metal bikini. (I could be wrong- my showtime is Saturday.)
