Anyone?

I really enjoyed it, and i liked the back-up story as well.

Nice insight into Sandy's early life. Wish someone would do more "Year Ones" with OTHER Spidey rogues as well...

i flipped thru the issue real quick and then put it back...felt it was just to promote the movie more

Aloha,
While you are right that it was timed to coincide with the movie, just remember that from here on out, Marvel will be putting out comics that help to promote their characters that are in current films. When X-Men #1 came out, Marvel was caught completly without comics to tie in with the movie-that will never happen again. The Annual itself was very well done. The back story was a modern Nuff Said version of the Kid who collects Spider-Man( very touching). The Sandman Year One was more in continuity than Doc Ock Year One.Give it a try.

maybe i will next week ....we'll see.

The stories were good, but I found it incredibly corny they gave Sandy an affinity for the beach in his childhood. I mean, that's somethin' outta the silver age, givin' a character a love of somethin' that eventually becomes their power, especially considerin' Sandy's transformation was a complete accident. Think a more original way to've gone woulda been to make him have HATED the beach or somethin'.

I enjoyed the Sandman story a lot actually. Decent art and a solid story. I agree with Capt Stacy that they should do a lot more of these Year Ones for Spider-Man's rogues. I'd like to see a nice Electro one or possibly a Shocker one maybe.

Vulture and Kraven as well.

I thought the little Back story they gave Vulchy in the Take Wing arc was great, the interaction between a young Toomes and his older crippled brother really fleshed out the origin of Toome's current take on what he believes to be the weakness in people.....I think it would be a great start for a year one

that Peter David story in the back was the most depressing comic i've ever read :o

Aloha,
Have you ever read The Kid who collects Spider-Man? This story was a variation of that theme. 24 K No prize for the person who can name the issue that the Kid that Collects Spider-Man appeared in.

Amazing Spider-Man #248.

Vulture and Kraven as well.

Those two could be great. I think if Vulture were to have one, they should let PAD follow up on what he started in Taking Wing. Kraven could be cool as well, I read (somewhat recently) KLH and thought it was one of the best Spidey stories I've read. Seeing what he's gone through in life could be interesting.

That back-up story actually made me look for ASM 248 on Ebay the other day. I'm tryin' to curb my spendin' so I didn't pick it up just then, but did find some good deals.

I know it's already been named, but Amazing Spider-Man #248.
It was my first comic, and still my favorite.

Just got this. And it's really good. Now I start to like Sandman. It's pretty tragic how a good kid turns bad. And I like the relationship between Sandman and the beach, and building the sand castle that won't last forever.

The 2nd story is really depressing. Good one!
