Iron Man 2 Footage found folks no joke

I came in too late; they removed the video. :(

Footage was great!:cool::up:

From the bits that they've shown of Whiplash it appears that he will pose a bigger threat to Tony than i initially thought. And War Machine was really awesome to see in action. Looks like they really raised the stakes for Stark in this one.:woot:

^Personally, Whiplash is the only aspect of IM2 that i'm still not convinced about, sure he is a threat to Tony Stark without armour, but I just dont see what threat he would pose to Iron Man, a strong repulsor blast from distance and the fight is over.

Well I still think it's inevitable that Whiplash will get an upgrade. I don't think the Whiplash we see in that footage is the end game for Vanko.

He'll probably keep the whips, but get armour that allows him to fly and give him increased strength and all that jazz.

But Rourke does look ****ing nails there. That scene is going to be immense. I wonder how it ends? War Machine showing up at the last moment to save Tony?

^Possibly, or Shield showing up to help him, I do hope Vanko gets an upgrade as he will need one to fight Iron Man.

i dont understand this retroman.in the clip we saw whiplash going after tony without the suit.without the suit a lot of people are a threat to Tony Stark

Maybe the donut scene is at the end? Stark looks pretty worn out and maybe he's like, "Man, that was an intense fight...I need a donut."

Then comes Fury and all that jazz.

This just raises questions to me. How in the world would Vanko escape the scene if SHIELD (and/or War Machine) is there? He's on foot.

Stark probably comes out of this confrontation weaker and as Ace of Knaves points out when Whiplash and Iron Man have a rematch he'll more than likely have upgraded into something more menacing.

True and i'm not contradicting that.
Perhaps this is one of the lessons Tony will learn in the film - the consequences of revealing his secret identity has it's drawbacks. He'll need to be on his guard all the time now.

Footage is great. The thing about Iron Man is that i could watch Tony Starks character all the time. He defintiley outweighs Peter Parker and Bruce Wayne's character styles.

Haha yeah, it's like I wanna' be Tony Stark so bad.

Pretty much. Just the way he handles himself and how he talks over people, its so clever and fun to watch. RDJ is the best thing these films have going for them. Sure you can add all this star power with Mickey, Scarlett, Don, and Sam but Robert Downey is still the soul of these films.

Yeah, I think the best comparison I've read is that Robert Downey Jr in Iron Man is like Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean, where it's a performance that just drives the film and makes it more than the sum of its parts.

yep, thats a good description

Whiplash defeats Tony at the racetrack because he catches him with his pants down without the suit. So that's an easy victory. But we will be able to see the intimidation and the power of Whiplash. Then his technology could progress through the film.

The whips can probably do more than people realize here. Who knows what it could do? Things we probably can't think of until we see it.

Yeah, I don't think it's fair to just dismiss a villain because he doesn't appear to be a physical match for the hero. I know people hate TDK mentions on the Iron Man boards, but The Joker was in no way a physical match for Batman, yet managed to totally put him through the ringer. There's plenty of ways to make a villain compelling.

agreed. Its all about the villains intelligence.

Besides to kill Tony Stark and seek revenge for his family?

Downey is definitely the primal force behind these films. Without him, it's just another superhero movie.

Rourke is a tremendous actor, and one who will intimidate no matter what his outfit is. I don't think they want to rehash the same old power suit badguy, as we've already been there.

I also wonder what (if any) roll the 10 rings will have to play in the next film. I keep feeling that Madarin is lurking in the background behind all this, to be revealed for a 3rd movie.

It will be interesting to see what unfolds. Everything looks tremendous so far.

WAR FREAKING MACHINE!!!!! WOOO HOOO!!!!
