⚽ Football (Soccer)

Arsenal-Luton just want to one up the Liverpool-Fulham and Man City-Tottenham games.

This game is going to give me a heart attack
Sorry mate, not looking good for you right now with a few mins to go, but very entertaining game.

Rice heads it in 7 mins into injury time!!!

Looks like this game is living up to Liverpool Bournemouth after all. Massive 3 points for Arsenal, very happy for you @blue scholar :cwink:

Almost had a seizure when that goal went in.

First time I've seen Luton play. I like how scrappy and fearless they are. I hope they stay up in the league.

Haha, not surprised. Could be a huge 2 points at the end of the season. Luton were a lot worse at the beginning of the season and looking dead certs for last place, but have been showing a lot of fight in the last couple of months. Feel sorry for them after all that effort and to get nothing after scoring 3 goals. But Arsenal need the points lol.

Arteta good booked for celebrating a last second winner and Tomiyasu is out for a month or so.

That win called for a blood sacrifice

Good win for Arsenal in the end getting all 3 points. Luton seem to be giving sides more to think about these days which is good for the competition shame they couldnt get another point yesterday but Arsenal just kept going like they needed to to get the job done. Adds just a bit more pressure to City in their game now to keep up the pace. The longer the title race can go the better so hopefully it goes longer than last season, just slightly concerned about Arsenal keepers situation they dont seem to have a settled one they can rely on unlike the other top sides in the race.

Yeah, the longer before City run away with it the better for the league. Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs at least put the brakes on them for now.

Luton are showing some real fight. I think I’ll watch more of their upcoming games.

Are you saying Utd aren’t one of the top sides (due to Onana not exactly being “settled”)? :funny: :csad:

You feel for Luton but this is the kind of game where the bottom team ends up dropping points in the final minute against a top team 4 out of 5 times. It always feels like the added time doesn't matter that much, the top team always gets another attack in, almost like a "play until you score" type scenario. A bit like playing against the AI in FIFA sometimes. :D But yeah Luton dropping a point against Arsenal in the 96th minute, they dropped 2 points against Liverpool in the 95th minute and that's just this season so far. Other bottom clubs face the same kind of scenario against the big dogs.

I think Aston Villa has decent chances today (and on Saturday) but us playing Chelsea feels really hard to predict. Chelsea has played good against the top teams but if you look at both clubs it's like both are allergic to get a string of good results together. It feels like no matter who wins tonight (us or Chelsea), there's another loss around the corner to bring that team back down to reality again.

Yeah, seems like fate is against the smaller clubs in those situations too often. Got to feel sorry for them after fighting so long.

Oh City have Villa away, chance of even more dropped points then. At least not a guaranteed 3 points anyway before the match kicks off. I believe they have some injuries or players missing out from bookings too. Hopefully Villa can put up a decent fight.

Yeah I was talking about specifically the teams that actually have a genuine shot at the title, City, Liverpool who have obvious number one keepers they can rely on. United are not a "top" side going for the title at the moment and neither do we have a keeper we can rely on, for various reasons but I dont think anyone would argue he is at the moment to be honest.

Yeah, City and Liverpool are much stronger on the no.1 keeper front. They have players who can win them games. Utd has one that can lose them games lol. Arsenal’s keepers are a step below for now, and I don’t think the current rotation or whatever’s going on is working so far. Both made F ups in the last couple of games.

1-0 McTominay again gets us in the lead. Chances at both ends though, we seem to be on top more though at the moment.

quite surprised how much possession and shots on goal Villa has against City right now

Rashford and Martial both dropped!

Van Dijk puts Liverpool in front at Sheff Utd.

1-1 Palmer. Soft shot rolls under Onana, poor effort from him to stop it.

1-1 HT - Odd game, we have been a bit better than of late and could have had a couple more early on but once again we are so soft at the back and have gifted Chelsea so many chances the score could have been 3-3 at half time, both defences look weak for both sides and neither keeper gives much confidence. Entertaining game at least though. Could go either way at the moment.

I’ve had Liverpool on, only 1-0 up in the dying minutes and Sheff Utd didn’t give up.

Was just checking the Villa City stats, 13 shots, 5 on target for Villa and only 2 shots (both on target) for City. Maybe there really is a chance they drop more points here.

Szoboszlai finally finishes them off. 2-0.

I also was surprised by that just before tuning in to that match. The small part I’ve watched, Villa have been all over City. Not seen City pegged back like this, and by a team outside the top challengers.

Update: 17 shots to 2!!

Villa finally score!! The shot was deflected but Villa totally deserve that. Leon Bailey gets the goal.

The game would probably be 2-0 Villa if they played better balls to their wingers on the counterattack
