For the People With All Three Systems (XBOX 360, PS3, Wii) Thread

I agree, altho im getting Street Fighter IV for the 360, only because of Xbox Live.
I'm thinking whether to get Street Fighter 4 for the 360 or the PS3. I still need to see like a head to head comparison of the two

There wont be any differences and if there are some, you wont be able to tell.

dude, I think you stress way too much over which system to get your games on.

yeah, seriously. Aside from glaring differences (DLC, Six Axis, etc..) I highly doubt the differences really matter.

it's not exactly my questions, is for people who have both PS3 and 360 systems who can't decide. There are differences, and I'm not talking about graphics. It's more about "quality"

For the PS3 collector's edition, you get a bluray anime movie, the 360 doesn't have that. If I decide on getting the collector's edition, the PS3 version is probably what I'm leaning towards, even though my friends have the 360 and not the ps3.

It's a bargain i know, but I want to hear from people who have both systems and who are planning to get the game

The 360 gets an HD game disc with the movie so really there isnt any signifcant difference in the anime packed in

"HD game disc"??

What exactly is that? I mean, the collector's edition for the 360 has the anime movie that outputs 720p??? But it's a DVD isnt' it? How does a DVD output HD movies??

All 360 games are in HD. The anime is on a game disc and outputs at 720p. If it were on a standard DVD it would only have a maximum resolution of 480p unless it were upscaled. The PS3's BR outputs at a max of 1080p. The movie is an anime though so you really arent going to notice a significant difference between 720p and 1080p. The quality is virtually identical

No. They're two complete different formats. Like Betamax and VHS.

Aren't Hd and Blu-ray the same thing.
A blu-ray is an HD format but HD isnt necesarly a bluray. 360 games are HD (and the anmie is on a 360 disc) and will only play in the 360. A blu-ray will play in a PS3 or any BR player

Wow, an exact one year bump....

Well, which system should Final Fantasy XIII be bought on?

Well, I have no interest in Final Fantasy, but if I did I guess I'd get it on the PS3, so I wouldn't have to change the disc 3 times. (Not that disc changing is a big deal, Mass Effect 2 required one and alls good.)

If I get it (mainly it'll be for the wife, since the last FF I liked was the old top down versions) it'll likely be on the 360.

The main reason is because we have a 360 upstairs and one downstairs. So I can keep playing my PS3 games and she can go upstairs :D Or if I decide to give it a shot, chances are she'll be on one of the later discs and I can start from disc 1.

Not interested in FFXIII either, but I'd get it for the PS3 just because Squenix + Sony makes sense to me. I bet they developed it on the PS3 too, which means it'll probably be at least slightly better than the 360 version. Plus, it is nice to not have to swap discs if you've got the option.

Oh yeah, I don't own a Wii, by the way. I'll go away if that means I'm not good enough for you. :csad:

it was developed in the PS3 first and then later ported to the 360. They had to do some major compressing of the game and video to get it to fit. The PS3 is shaping up to be the superior version and for those with both systems it seems lik an almost of a no brainer which one to get

Yeah, I have no problem with the game being multiplatform....but I honestly think it probably should have stayed exclusive to Sony.

Damn, this thread is old.

I have all 3 systems now. Though I'd get rid of my 360 if it wasn't for all my Rock Band stuff and Perfect Dark coming out next week. The 360's library of exclusives is a joke. There were more good PS3 exclusives last year than the 360 has in its entirety.

that statement is pretty ironic considering people kept trashnig the PS3 for having none in the beginning and the 360 having the vast majroity. Things have definetly turned around. Occasionally I'll look at some really old threads on this sight from like 2-3 years and its amazing the stuff that was said, which have not held true to how people felt about the 360 and PS3 today. If you are ever in need of a good laugh, Id suggest doing that

I'm sure it's the case. MS really needs to step it up. PS3 had a great year last year. This year it looks to be the Wii. Galaxy 2 and Other M are coming out. Red Steel 2, Epic Mickey, and Monster Hunter Tri have potential. We may get Zelda Wii in Nov/Dec.

Crackdown 2, Halo Reach, and possibly Fable 3 aren't enough to make up for their abysmal 09.

The 360 is still the system of choice for shooters, though. I don't have any numbers, but I'd put money on the 360 version of Modern Warfare 2 selling way better than the PS3 version. So-called "hardcore gamers" who are primarily concerned with shooters will still favor the 360 until the PSN is regarded as highly as Live.

Oh it defiently is. According to Vgchartz, the PS3 sold 6.97 million vs 9.71 million on the 360. Most games do tend to sell better on the 360, but the gap has defiently gotten smaller

The ironic thing is PCs are still better for FPS. I think MW2 might be the only exception.

PCs, unfortunately, aren't really considered a serious option for most gamers these days. I love my PC (replaying Mass Effect on it now, in fact), but I seem to be one of the few.

They're still the best option if the game doesn't have DRM.
