I haven't gotten it yet. But doesn't it seem a bit of a contradiction? At the end of the X2 novel, Jean was alive & well, but blind. Their attempts to prevent a spoiler seem to have bitten them in the rump here.

Originaly, the second movie was intended to end this way. Claremont wrote the book from the original script. Fact of Jean dying was added later.

:D Have any of you guys seen it? I'd like to know how they describe stroms powers

It's Claremont. He even gets to mention Cyke's eyebeam punching a hole in a mountain. Twice. Take a guess how he describes Storm's powers.

ummmm.....in the novel.....did they establish that Cyke's dies?????

or do they leave it ambiguous???

I just picked it up; I'll let y'all know what I think when I'm done.

The book makes some confusing parts of the movie more clear. They get into detail about Jeans past and stuff. But despite being more clear then the movie they still dont effectively explain why Jean is with Magneto and the reasons behind her actions. She knows she killed Scott and Xavier, both of who she loved, and yet she saves a randomn family in their car . I believe Psylocke lives in the book. She teleports away.

I think it stated he died, Jean keeps remembering Scott in a confusing way, I do not remeber it all, I read a couple of weeks ago but I think that inside Jean is battling with her two sides and she feels bad for what she has done to Scott...nobody mentions anything about finding his body or he being dead in a clear specific way...it is more or less as in the movie, but reading it I got the feeling that he was dead.

There are in fact two novels, one is the junior one where you can read the bar scene, and which is a bit cheesy in some parts and the novel by Claremont which is similar to the movie but there are a few aspects that I found confusing. The bits of Jean´s past and all the mixed feelings of Logan towards Jean and Storm....is like the author was deciding between ROLO and JELO and did not reach a decision.........and all the JOTT as well, that was confusing for me. The end of the novel is slightly different to the movie, although not as different as in X2 and X2´s novel.....I saw a pic with Jean in the X-suit in the president´s room, so I guess they did that scene with her alive and blind too? I do not have that in my dvd, is there a dvd like X 2.5?

Nope, not yet. But have you read the book?

Can you tell me what Storm does (power wise) that she doesn't do in the movie? Because she did fog and other stuff in the X2 novel. And they explained stuff deeper in her powers.

Okay, I am reading the novel...takes a bit of time, it is tiny paperback copy...but here there is the moment Charles goes to speak with her when she is angry after the Danger Room:

"Charles tried reaching her telepathically as he rolled his wheelchair through the halls, but as usually the case when her powers were this active, there was so much charged electrical energy coursing through her system that it coated her mind with a sleet storm of psychic static. Even the fleeting contact necessary to determine her location threatened a nasty headache"

Hope you like it while I am reading....and hope it is ok to post it...

THANK YOU! AND YES...IT DID HELP! I love Storm!

I like the book a lot! I think its better than the movie itself. And the only ones I felt for were Jean, Scott, and Logan. No one else... okay okay, I also felt for Kitty and Bobby. but truely those are the only ones I felt for. Okay theres also Beast and Mystique. Okay. thats all. lol. So basically the ones I mentioned are the ones I also felt for in the film.

But the Book is way better. :D I love the emotional stuff ...I felt for them a lot than I had before.

Charles mentions how she was worshipped in Kenya, and she reminds him that she has discovered the extent of her powers, and that when she generates rain in a place she is taking it away from somewhere else and therefore she could do harm without being that her intention....When Logan and Storm arrive to Alkali Lake both know something is wrong, the author mentions that she too has a great sensitivity to the world surrounding her...

Yes, me too....but I was confused by the underlying ROLO....specially when Logan starts checking Storm´s back.....kind of creepy! (IMO)

This is too much for me to contain! I love Storm1 I love Ororo Munroe!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS. Don't tell me any more. I have to see it for myself..but thanks sooo much for telling me!

she is in the lab when they bring Jean...she only listens to Xavier´s explanation while inside she is thinking about Logan´s reactions to the news of the mental blocks....that part was nice, Storm seemed concerned for her friend...that was a good thing that should have been in the movie....more....Logan and Storm use tactics when fighting Juggernaut and Callisto...she spinned and also created a tornado which disoriented her enemies and then she drop to the floor and finished with accurate blows...and she thinks: "Logan, isn´t the only X--man who knows how to figHt"

I didn't like how Storm was like in the movie - I think for what would have worked if she had more emotion towards Jean...i Mean come on, she was her best friend...shouldn't she feel some remorse for Jean- i mean before what happened to Xavier. Like someone mentioned before, Storm should have been in the same scene as Logan while Xavier discussed about Jean's condition. maybe bobby too...maybe... -sighs- damn it X. -puts his face in his hands-
