Fox and Marvel at Disagreement about the X-Men Franchise!

Of course Halle wants a fourth movie now that Storm is head of the school. More screentime for Halle.

I guess you didn't stay after the credits. Xavier's body stolen long lost/retconned/twin/cousin's dentist is more likely than not, going to take the position back...oh no this will either force Storm to have an actual part in the story or force her back into expensive elevator music again.

I guess were going to be forced to wait and see.

I'm not gonna quote but after a brief thanks she said, Do you like the X-men movies? Do you like Storm? I love Storm. If you want to see more, if you want something else, changes...blah blah, write letters blah blah to FOX, WRITE TOM ROTHMAN. If there is an X4, I will be there. Something else...blah blah, power to the people.

God damnit.

She's actually going to manage to fool people into not noticing she pulled a f****n 180.

Let's hope not. They've screwed the x-mythos bad enough as it is.

That, and, as a fan of the-guy-who-"died"-off-screen, it just doesn't look good if we have to worry about the future of the HEADMISTRESS of the school. :D

Well since its Xavier is in some way shape or form alive and well, its his job to be headmaster, cause like it's his school. :oldrazz:

So since Ororo will most likely get dinked out of a promotion (may I remind you she only got because of the SCOTT "dying" too) and still got dinked out of a origin, love life, a consistent personality, and had her real job stolen right underneath of her TWICE in one freaggin movie, is on the sidelines cheering the plot on, and was basically an worthless idiot that doubled over as minority cannon fodder and a power tool...well yeah I am a little worried about that.

Now if I had to choose between the Cyclops (which was despite his lack of onscreen time a far more in depth than anything Storm got)who had a glorious cameo in Jesus's....err Jean's love life or Storm with the problems listed above well, guess where my loyalties lie.

Storm's character is in a loose-loose situation right now, I think.
If they continue the franchise, which Halle seems interested in, they'd probably continue her part as it was in X3, or other writers and directors will come on board and reinvent the character again (but may stick a new wig on Halle). So that means well either get a bad Storm, or an even more inconsistant Storm.

As for giving Storm an origin scene, I'd definetly welcome that, but none of the first three X-Men movies really warrented one.
Storm seems more like a secondary character in X1 (and 2), so the flashbacks had to set up characters more important to the story, which in X1's case were Rogue and Magneto.
X2 didn't have any flashbacks, and personally, I don't think it needed any. It would feel out of place.
X3 is the only movie where I could see Storm having a flashback, since her part in this movie is much bigger. But I think that could only work if they'd put a lot of emphasis on her being worshipped for her powers, and work in a strong arc about Storm being frustrated why she is hated and feared for them in the Western world. This would also show why she is so against the cure.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda but surprise suprise...they didn't do that. To late now. It makes me sad that she didn't even lead, not once. Dammit even in the Danger Room. Stupid Wolverine, he needed her to go Zeus on his shiny metal a**. That was so embarrassing to see Wolverine march in like he owned the place after not being there for 8 months, to be barking orders. Then to have those other dingbats actually listen to him! ARG! :whatever: And to think, most people believe the fartiness of the Danger Room was Storm's fault...then to have Wolver "hold this line"ine pull that stunt as well as open his mouth when he took down Mags in the final battle, boooo.

Hell, she couldn't even keep the school open on her own. Technically she didn't even fight for it at first, Bobby did.

But Storm took 4 mins to fight Callisto. Good thing that wasn't a waste of time. That was like Christmas in July. Oh wait...no it wasn't.

So I guess we can come to the conclusion that the line of leadership in the post Brian movies will reflect the line of highest paid actors...Hugh will beat Halle...right?

X3 had two flashbacks. Angel as a child, Jean Grey as a child. But they also filmed dialogue with Storm mentioning how she was worshipped in her African village. You can see it being filmed in one of the DVD extras on the X3 DVD. It was cut, but would have made her anger over the cure more logical, since her powers and mutancy were seen as a gift.

Well considering that fact that the Singer movies didn't really have a leader, then yes.

I don't remember Cyclops actually efficiently leading. Not even when they picked up Logan and Marie. It was just Cyclops and Storm, and he didn't give her any orders. Maybe he lead of screen, like where he fought the guards and Deathstrike, got kidnapped, and where he "died". Wow, he's a busy character off screen, isn't he.

And who said there wasn't a pattern with all three movies?

I don't understand how they could deleted that, was something needed to know more her role. Fox, Brett and their decisions, bahh

Well...I didn't mean it so much as there wasn't a pattern, that there weren't leaders in all three, what I meant was, X3 and whatever happens after, were are will be so money driven, that there will be no logical writing, no real reason why people are the leader, it will be because of star power...not the respect or love of any of the characters...their movies made for the actors, not for the stories, characters, or original fanbase.

I heard about that scene, X-Maniac. It would've been good to see.
I agree with Angamb: it shouldn't have been deleted in the first place.
But that scene, even if it had been included, doesn't make an arc. And that was my point: why give Storm an origin scene if you're not going to develop the character more?

In X3, Storm's character seems mostly buildup, but no payoff.
She is against the cure, but when the one person who's basically the reason of its existance walks into the mansion, she doesn't even have a comment on this.
Same in the final battle, when Wolverine suggests they should cure Magneto, shouldn't she have some objection against it? Sure, Magneto is a great threat, but her views, as established in X1 and 2, are pretty much the same as Magneto's: why should mutants be "cured"?
I'm not saying she should go into a long debate with Wolverine and Beast, but a comment like "I'm not sure this is the right way" or even a look that suggests she isn't happy with this decision could have done it.

Also, Xavier names her his heir, but when the time comes to take that position, she chickens out. And that while at Xavier's funeral, she pleaded that they, his students, would have to carry out his vision.

I think that if they had followed through on all the things they set up for Storm in X3, we would have gotten a very interesting Storm, that still could have been a logical continuation of X1 and 2 Storm.

I could care less about X-Kids, Gen-X type of stuff. X4 would interest me, even though they killed off Scott. That was stupid. Totally stupid, just because Wolverine became the face of that film. Effing annoying.

Well, lets not start bickering about this too early, X4 hasn't even come out yet. We could still see some pretty cool stuff. Who knows? X4 might actually give some justice for the franchise. It all depends whos at the reign. There could be some amazing writers working on it...and Storm could have an amazing part. Personally, I liked Storm a lot in X3, yes I am mad at Fox/Ratner for cutting out what could of made the movie much better.

If/when X4 arrives, we will have to establish guidelines for NOT spoiling this movie.

I would love to see Storm have the same, if not better role in X4.

This does not have to necessarily be like this. It could all be a brand new start.

So as parting words, don't start forming hypothesis about how bad the movie will be, just try to look at the deceny. For now, I actually want them to confirm X4.

Well in X3 we never see Cyclops die...so if there was a X4 he could always be brought back and if they need more for Storm to do in X4 then bring Forge in and let them showcase thier love affair

I didn know Storm had something with Forge.

What I think would be nice is seeing Beast having feelings to her, but without letting her know it.

Yes Storm and Forge had a off again on again realationship...and in the ultimate universe Storm and Beast had a relationship

cyce doesn't have to be dead. he could be dying and his body can be found by mr. sinister. this way they can bring back scott and introduce sinister.
