Fox News pundit Dana Perino said she's "tired" of atheists attempting to remove the phrase "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance, adding, "if these people really don't like it, they don't have to live here."

The co-host of Fox's "The Five" was referring to a suit brought by the American Humanist Association in Massachusetts, where the state's Supreme Judicial Court heard a challenge to the pledge on Wednesday.
CNN

Excellent retort to disagreeing on the definition of Church and State regarding "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance (something we all know is imperative to the very fabric of the country). "We don't agree on it so why don't you just go to some other country?"

Greg Gutfeld, another co-host on "The Five," continued the discussion after Perino, saying the Pledge of Allegiance "is not a prayer, it's a patriotic exercise. In a sense, it's basically saying: Thanks for giving us the freedom to be an atheist."
Unless you don't want to say "under God" you heathen atheist. Get out of the country.

I don't understand how under God is even a gigantic deal. Its the atheist parents that are ****ing flipping out, you think the kids give two ****s?

This is a ridiculous argument when there are nations in poverty, war, and the national debt keeps rising. There are real matters to be debated, and this isn't one of them. Get over yourselves. Im ****ing tired of hearing this ****.

Everyone has their priorities and they are never the same as anyone else's. While it is trivial to most people, to a minority of very vocal, very self-important people, this is a big deal. And I mean that about both sides.

Most people are indifferent to it but there are always going to be people who think something minor is major, and something major is minor. Or that the best way to handle something is completely contradictory to some other method.

Who knows which is right or wrong? Whatever you believe in should not make you a martyr or a pariah.

Well, no we really aren't, but thanks for playing.

As someone who isn't quite atheist, but IS very anti-Christianity, I have to say that "under God" doesn't particularly bother me. It's not saying -what- God. Although I suppose an atheist believes in zero gods, but yea... it doesn't specify -WHICH- God, so people of all faiths can get down with that. I'd imagine.

Until people try to actually impose beliefs on me - which the right wing is trying to do on the issues of abortion, gay marriage, and plenty more - I really don't care what the Pledge of Allegiance or a dollar bill says.

BUT, I will say, considering that our Constitution is very clear on the separation of church and state - it's actually the Christians who "don't have to live here" if they don't like it. Jussss sayin'.

Exactly, I agree its the ridiculous Right Wing of FOX vs the Atheists yet again, Under God's under fire or Christmas is attacked. I'm tired of hearing it from both sides.

Its not worth anyones breathe like I said before. This is a moot point in the grand scheme of things.

Yes, the kids give two ****s.

I was raised a catholic, and I hated praying in the catholic school. And I know if I were an American kid, I'd hate having to say "under god".

I don't live in America but FOX News seems like a right wing propaganda network.

By the way I don't believe in God but I wouldn't have a problem with "under god".

I simply don't care.

How is a kid supposed to refuse saying the pledge without inevitably being singled out either by other students or by teachers?

Fox News is right wing but it's mostly propaganda and scare-mongering too. Any time they can find something to ratchet up the fear they are attracted to it like magnets to metal.

I don't have a problem with it really. I get annoyed hearing that this was country was founded by Christians when most of the founding fathers were deists. Most of them had quotes about how much they hated organized religion I believe.

it builds character. not that they should be placed in that situation.

The "under God" thing isn't a big deal to me. Really by the time you understand what you're saying, you no longer have to say it. It's really just coffee for elementary school students.

Even as a kid I would just mouth the words anyway, so this isn't a big deal for, though I think a child should have the right to recite with or without the "under god" if they so chose.

Every couple of days I'm reminded why I don't watch Fox anymore.

I used to be an atheist until I found Cthulhu. This is one planet under Cthulhu!

I never even stood up for the pledge growing up. I had one teacher who had immigrated from Italy and said he would make the class do it over and over til everyone did it right. He made everyone but me do it four times before he stopped and told me it was me holding everyone up.

I told him if he moved here because he truly believed in what America was about then he should understand why I refuse to do the pledge, and that forcing it would probably be counterproductive. I also noted that he was singling me out and bullying me, not to mention refusing to do the curriculum and wasting mine and every student that periods time. He never tried to force me to do it again.

Fox News is a pretty good summation of everything that is wrong with America.

Also, the under God part was added in the 1950's by religious fanatics. It has no authenticity.

But then the whole pledge thing is silly, and just a product mid-20th century politics.

Also, since one of the idiots in the program mentioned it, under god was also added in the 50's to the currency.

Okay the irony coming out of the idiot's mouth at the end is... staggering.

"To try to enforce it on everyone else and inflict their belief system."

But it's nice to see a brunette on Fox.

What a disgusting woman.
