Kathy Griffin Makes Offensive Religious Remarks About Jesus

No, she doesn't.
I will never understand why people expressing how they feel is such a threat to people like you.
":cmad: Wull,...you can feel that way, just don't Say it!"
This ugly redhead does not come into anyone's home with a gun and force them to listen to her. Why on Earth would you give a s*** what she says?!
.

It doesn't threaten me. It does annoy me when people of notoriety act like petulant children. In this case, it was someone who had entertained me for years. I overlooked alot of comments ( like her LOTDL comment about Jesus being "overrated") because I thought she was truly being satirical. This time, she was just being spiteful. I'm not mad. I'm just done with her.
BTW, Wilhelm, you need to lay off of the Red Bulls.

Like I said before, when it comes to Christianity, people are always ready to support the person on the other side. They were both exercising their rights, but the Catholics were 'whiny' and 'delusional'.

I suppose if I said that "all athiests were delusional hedonists" or "all gay people try to ride on the coattails of a REAL Civil Rights Movement and the gay rights movement is a piece of crap", then it would be a totally different issue.

And it wouldn't even be because of my right to free speech(hell, you'd probably acknowledge that)it would be because I was acting 'like an idiot' and 'being ignorant'.

But she makes an offensive remark towards Christianity and she's 'enjoying her right to free speech'. She's showing those 'Christian bastards' what she thinks of their religion and it's 'all good'.

:whatever:

LOL, she was talking about a person who might or might NOT exist.
last time I checked both Atheists and Gay people are pretty tangible.

just ask Miked202 :o

maybe you need to lay off the Jesus....don't know if you read the last few pages, but the general feeling is that some Christians feel they are above criticism because of the Bible and Jesus......like that gives them the right to judge what people say and do.....

I don't care. I have atheist friends who make jokes like that all the time. The difference is that they're at least a little funny and I don't take offense. She's not, though I'm not going to waste my time being offended by morons who are nobodies to the general public until they remind everyone why Hollywood loves them.

Yes, I've read them. Certainly, Christians are not above reproach nor is religion a topic that can't be spoofed. Yet there are certain instances where people are blatantly disrespectful and they must be called on it.

so are you saying that only people you think are funny can make fun of Jesus??....I happen to find her amusing:oldrazz:

You're trying to make it sound like we should be careful about making fun or criticizing because someone is going to show up and spank us....??? As for me...I do believe in God, but I believe the Bible was written by a bunch of old men to keep the masses in line....using the fear of God to control people...that's what organized religion does.....preys on peoples' fears

Nope, just that if anyone's going to waste my time with controversial comedy it should make me laugh at the very least.

There are natural consequences to our words. See Michael Richards and Don Imus for recent case studies. Some things are just better left unsaid.

Richards and Imus are indeed real people and suffered those consenquences. Who determines what is better left unsaid? I bet some of the people that were offended by this think they know whats best for what people should say and not say...

The catholics are always the ones to make a big deal out of insignificant things, yet ironically enough, they're the people who sin the most.

Got a scientific inquiry on the ratio, slick? Sin's a very murky thing and next to impossible to gauge.

I love how Catholics so often act like they're so persecuted. When history tells us that they persecuted the whole world for centuries. :whatever:

That's why I'm glad I'm not Catholic. Something about the worship of figures like the Pope who are responsible for some seriously insane historical atrocities rubs me the wrong way regardless of common belief.

I think catholics are the anti-Christ. :ninja:

There something else that rubs me the wrong way as well. Second generation Catholics have no choice to be Catholic. They're kidnapped into a religion that they're parents chose for them.

Me too. They're all hipocrites.

I agree with you 100%.

Meh. My parents are raised Catholic, but they didn't make any big attempts to convert me. My mom just wanted to see me dress up for communion. :thisplaceneedsanauseatedsmilie: They seem to respect the fact that I'm just Christian like they turned out to be good enough.

I think catholics are the anti-Christ.

Hell is other people, so I can care less who he is.
