Seriously cannot wait for this movie to finally air. Its been so long since the comic that they are gonna have to change a few minor things. But still this should be good

Stevie's dad wouldn't have been my first choice for the Mutant Leader, but it looks decent. Looking forward to this more than Year One.

It's fitting that The Joker posted that.

Besides the Michael Emerson interview, the link also reveals that Mark Valley (Human Target) is voicing Superman in Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Part 2.

Both are perfect casting choices IMO I can't wait to see what Emerson does with The Joker.

They should have left in "I'll eat his heart and drag his body through the streets". The mutant leader is obviously a cannibal with his filed teeth. Voice sound good though.

I wonder how much is gonna get left out, I really hope they rejig the dialogue if the scene where the president asks Superman to bring in the Batman is left in part 1 as I hate it when the president calls him a good boy.

Helloooo

This is looking better and better. So glad there's a competent voice actor for Batman.

Awesome. Again, impressively faithful to the source material.

"Never Again" is due to Jason Todd's death. Comics Interview Super Special: Batman reported that in 1986 at the Mid-Ohio-Con, a benefit for the March of Dimes, in Mansfield, Ohio, Frank Miller was asked about Jason Todd's death and explained that "Jason Todd was killed by the Joker" (this was years before Jim Starlin's A Death in the Family (1988) was written).

I still dream about a series of Batman adventuring with Jason Todd, it makes you wonder how much Dark Knight: Boy Wonder will develope the Dark Knight's character, but his prime years must have been the best he'd ever have.

You can watch the first 3 minutes of the movie at the german iTunes-Store (Link). You have to change your country-settings to germany to watch the preview. Just klick the "Trailer anzeigen"-button.

The president in Dark Knight Returns is based on Ronald Reagan. Reagan had a western "country boy" dialect. "Good boy" is western speak as they refer to guys as "Good ol' boys." It's not meant as an insult, it's intended as a compliment. He also refers to Batman as a "Crazy bronco horse on a ranch," which is not intended as a compliment. I hope they keep the "Good boy" and "Crazy bronco" dialogue based on Reagan in the film rather than making the president just a bland, generic one-dimensional president lacking a personality. Frank Miller does not hate Superman. Frank Miller explained that he thinks "Superman is such a great character" at the Mid-Ohio-Con, a benefit for the March of Dimes, in Mansfield, Ohio in 1986:

i hate to say this but I dont like the voice of the mutant leader..sounds too civilized and older...
That and for some reason I have the voices from the "legends of the dark knight" episode of BTAS in my head for those characters.

I didn't either. I imagined a more terrifying and vicious voice. A lot of the vocal performances so far sound quite dull to me. *shrugs*

I think they've pretty much nailed all the voices except the mutant leader so far... and even then his voice won't ruin the movie for me.

I read it wrong so I guess thats why problem but I read good boy as the way an owner treats a dog when they do well. Superman may have helped the government in the past but you have to admit in this book he's portrayed as a guy who does what he's told by "the Man" when Superman we know does what he feels is right and does try to do it by the book but if its wrong we know he won't do it. Infact the way I see it is the way the team of captain Atom etc went after Superman & Batman in Public Enemies because he & his team were ordered too by the President yet Superman wouldn't hand himself over to authority as he knew he was innocent. The Superman in TDKR's would probably hand himself over (even if Lex was president) and try another tactic to proove his innocence, I much prefer a Superman who does what he feels is right not does something because he's told to by the authorities.

Thats an interesting read but the way I read this book shows me he doesn't get Superman at all but again thats just me. Also read the Dark Knight Strikes Again, Superman is portrayed as even bigger idiot in that book to the point where its just ridiculous.

I still don't get why he felt the need to have Superman Batman fight at all to be honest. I feel it comes across as some need to have Batman just pummel that crap out of Superman. I don't think there's a need for them to fight unless it involves mind control, red k or something. Of course the Man of Steel fan in me knows that Batman wouldn't last 2 secs with Superman and I admit to it hurting my ego a little (maybe ego's the wrong would but still) that
Batman kicks the crap out of Superman infact the Brave and the bold episode did the Dark Knight Returns fight and bettered it in my opinion as it went down the way I think it should.

Miller said he feels they wouldn't get along but I think they work better when they do. Jeph Loeb's run on Superman Batman showed how they would get along

I love Superman so much I hate to see him treated like this, alot of things irked me in the DCAU, the way Batman is put on a pedstal as someone whose better than Superman is irrating, its like they writers feel some need to make Batman look better by belittling Superman. Again Jeph Loeb did the dynamic perfect for me whereas Frank got it wrong.

All in all its just my opinion, I do like the Dark Knight Returns I just don't like the way the Dark Knight Returns version of Superman is treated as I feel Miller misunderstood the character.
